hi all,
guess what,i got accepted to the FDNY's advanced Terrisiom,bio-logical,chemical,bomb making class and no they don't teach us how to make this stuff.the teach us how to work and kept nyc residents alive if someone uses this stuff.i already have advanced training more than most of the FDNY personal,in hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction,as well as bio-chem to name just a few,these classes were very easy to get in to and in 2000,no one was even interested in these things.so i took them all then and well you could imagine how hot they are now after the attacks.this class i been trying to get into for a while,nothing will change my job role and i'll still work at the same fire house,but in the event of a major release of a chemical,bio logical or nuclear weapon or bomb i will have the advanced training to work in the hot zone or the area that is cotaminatied(maybe they'll teach me how to spell too
)i already carry a MSR its a full face mask with a massive filter to work in these areas,the filters come with 8 hours of protection,but we were trained to leave the hot zone after 4 and change the filter.it can filter out any bio,or chemical agent it also has a straw in it so that while the mask is on we can drink,clean filtered water and not have to take the mask off.or in the event of the end of the world we can consume massives amounts of vodka safely
but anyway i go back to the fire academy of nyc in jan and its a 2 and a half week course.should be fun,it you like this stuff and i figure since FDNY will have to respond to this anyway if it does happen,god forbid.i want to have the most training and protection when i get there to save my and your tush.i can't wait till january!!!
