Totally unexpected, I just got a call from Kirsten, one of my reps in Orlando (American accent and all!) introducing herself, and asking if I had any questions or anything about our holiday!

Anyone else had this??

Im kinda in shock about this

Yes We have spoken twice now to Linda about all sorts of trips

Wow! I've never heard of this before.

tell her to make sure she checks out these boards so they have the correct info:rotfl:

Me neither Alan. It was so unexpected I didnt quite know what to say.

Have to say though, it was a really nice touch. She was as nice as ninepence (or apple pie if you prefer  ).

It's great to know I have someone there who can guarantee me the type of room I want in my hotel (Comfort Inn LBV - car-park facing room, high up) and is emailing me so I can keep in touch with her to ask her any questions (her words).

For this small thing alone, I am mightily glad I booked with VH :)

We had Linda phone us before our Christmas Trip with different trips, she was trying to get DH to go to see Orlando Magic. Unfortuately we couldn't fit it in with our plans.

The one I had was really nice, a youngish girl. She even mentioned she was a single parent (in the context that I was travelling as a single parent - except im not now, as other people coming on a separate booking, but she spoke too quick for me to mention that :lmao: ).

It felt more like a 'here I am if you need me' than a marketing-type call, which was what was so nice about it :)

@ paulh: I didn't quite get to mention it by name, but I did tell her I had gotten loads of info from a disney board ;)

We had Kirsten call in December before our New Year trip. I am sure having someone known by name is very useful if it is your first time to WDW/Florida but to be honest there wasn't much she could do to help us!

Claire ;)

Had it not been for this place, I would still be on the phone to her! :lmao:

The planning has definitely come in handy. I knew to request a car-park facing room (high up for a possible view of Illuminations and Wishes ;) ), mentioned this to her, and was told that as long as I email her a week to 10 days beforehand, she will make sure it's done.

Time will tell of course, but having a name and email address is always a bonus :thumbsup2

She called me as well in December before our last trip, it was so exciting to speak to someone with an American accent again! The only question that I could thing of asking her tho was whats the weather like!

I have never received a call like this, but Jen I know exactly what you mean, whenever I make my ADR's or speak to DVC, I find myself chatting about the weather, it is such a British thing.

Kirsten called us three weeks ago, we talked about the weather too! I guess she must get that alot! :rotfl:

Call me cynical but by the end of the phone call (and the follow-up email) I felt it was a last ditch attempt to get us to buy excursions and phones cards!

I get that impression as fewer people are going to the welcome meetings!

Claire ;)

I have never had a phone call from them even when we got married last november .When we arrived they were suppose to have aletter given to us from the virgin rep about our meeting detials with the wedding coordinator and they didn't even have that.I find their customer service terrible and if I didn't have the discount I would definatley book elsewhere.I have written faxed and called about a recent issue and still 7 weeks down the line noone has resolved my issue.Sorry for the winge but so frustrated with them at the moment.

Me too, can't remember our rep's name but he was very nice and friendly and not at all pushy.

It certainly got us in the holiday mood ~ as if we needed any persuasion! ;)
