They wanted to let me know that BLT prices are going up to $130 a point so if I wanted to add-on now would be a good time! Ouch! That's getting a bit high, don't you think? :rolleyes1

It's a good thing we aren't planning on buying any more points for now. I was so tempted to buy some more before the prices go up. lol Yep, I've been assimilated. ;)

130??????? That is way too high. This appears to be a great time to hit the resale market. A point is a point is a point, unless you have preference on a home resort. I haven't had much trouble getting the resort I want, so I would never pay that type of money for a point.

What was the original price for a point? I could have sworn that someone said that it was around $60. If so, that was a steal.

I suspect that it was you guide that called you.:confused3 I would be surprised if member services called.

Nope, it wasn't my guide. "Adam from member services" left me a voice mail with a message for me to call back with "an important update on Bay Lake Tower"

The number wasn't the regular 800 number to call however. When I called I went through a different voice prompt system, then when I got connected and spoke with someone he did transfer me to a guide. Not mine though.

Sometime I think they raise prices just so they can have another webinar sale.

MG

They raise prices as a sales tactic, webinar or other. People will rush to buy before the increase. Disney will wait a while and offer incentives that will lower the actual price. Then they do it all over again, and people rush to buy again.

It's a successful sales tactic and it seems to work very well.

I received the same call from MS and then was transferred to not-my-guide:goodvibes

So how does this work? If I add-on, does not-my-guide get the comission?

Am I cheating on my guide?:rotfl: Is my guide still there?:confused3

I also got the call and was transfered to a guide, not my guide. When I asked about my guide I was told they were on a leave of absence. When I asked if and when they will return I was told they did not know but it was a long leave. No interest in adding on right now and if i did it would be resale!

I do not like unsolicited sales calls. So if this call is for sales then I want off the list. Should I call member services or if DVC sales calls again just let them know?? One way or another when they call they should identify themselves with DVC Sales not just DVC with a question about my membership...Sorry a little annoyed..

Since member dues pay for member services, I hope there is some charge back to sales for this.

I just got the same call. The first woman (not my guide) was calling to say hello and welcome home, stating that I was a recent new member. I told her that I have been a member for 2-1/2 years now and have made several trips. Then she said that she wanted to let me know about some exciting new "opportunities" and then she suddenly transferred me to someone named "Kathy" (also not my guide) so that I could get the "point prices are going up soon and we have some great incentives" speech. When I asked about my guide, she acknowledged who my guide is and said she thought my guide had moved to another part of the company, but she wasn't sure. She then told me about the point price increase, at which time I said that I have enough points right now. What I thought was funny was that she knew exactly which one of my contracts was resale, so I guess they somehow designate those contracts as resale.

Got this same phone call and was quickly switched to Kathy. I told her I was not interested. A little while latter I received an email thanking me for having KATHY as my new guide. There had been no mention of this in the phone call:confused3 would have been nice if she would have introduced herself as my new guide during the phone call. I did tell her I had no plans on purchasing more BLT points but at a latter date planed on purchasing more AKV points or adding on at BWV. She informed me she could give me a deal on AKV points along with giving me the previous years points but could not do anything in regards to a discount at BWV. I told her that was fine as I am not making a purchase for awhile. She thanked me and ended the conversation...

I just got the call a few minutes ago but before the lady could even get through part of her introduction I asked her what about my guide Randy, she placed me on hold and then came back and said that he will call me directly. We'll see if and when that happens. Thanks to this thread, I will have a few questions for him about the new DVC sales tactics.

We have not gotten any calls after our initial purchase. Once after the tour. But, then we bought resale and saved over 50%.

Wow, I bought into DVC the first year at OKW and in all that time never received a phone call trying to sell me something.....Are you sure it was DVC doing the calling?

I received an email and call from my guide about the price increase to $130point last week.

Just got a call from a ASA about BLT prices going up and warning me that they are selling out.

I said thanks but no thanks. :)
