Just got a call from IC!!

I did not send a request to IC, but DU TA is getting me a quote for the West Bound Repo. I really don't want to see the price, but DD is insisting on this cruise. Could anyone who did the 2005 Repo give me some idea of what the costs were?

I paid $5216 for a cat. 6 (without any insurance, flights etc.) on the 6/11/05 cruise for 2.

How did you like the Mexican Riviera?
I LOVED it! We had a great time at all of the ports - it was a bit cold coming back, but I didn't mind too much, it was still a great time. I've been hoping since then that Disney would come back, so I could do it again! I know some people were disappointed in comparison to other places they had been. But, I didn't compare it to any other places, I accepted it for it's own charm, maybe that helped.

I wont be making that misstake again!!!!:)

We paid $2,310.89/adult and $1,060.89/child for two Cat 8s on the 8/20/05 repo, no insurance or airfare. Reservations made on the first day after 83 minutes on hold and calling right when the phone lines opened. My notes show a Cat 4 at that same time would have been $10,264.45.

Cat 5, 2 Adults, Grandmother & Grandfather. Approx. 5,200 no transfers and no insurance.
This is the same price for 2 people in a cat 5 for the March 15,2008 eastern. Do you think that the prices for this same cruise would be a about the same for other cats and # of people for the Mexico trips?:confused3

Thanks guys! These prices really aren't as bad as I had expected. About the same as two weeks all inclusive at a nice resort.

O'man....I hate this waiting....I just want to be called and book so I don't have to get up at 5:00am and be on the phones(calling on cell and leaving house phone open) and computer to book this cruise.

But want to be sure to get the best avalible price. Glad that DH works out of the house so he can help get the kids ready and fed for school and take them also.... if nessasary.

It will be interesting to hear throughout the first week on how much the price has changed. So if you could all be so kind to just wait till I get through before you call I would so appriciate it.

It is my sons 13 birthday that day...if you can't do it for me than do it for him

I don't know what everyone's TA is talking about, but I absolutely promise you all that we received a phone call last night from IC regarding the Mexican Riviera cruise. To be fair, we did fax in a request for a Cat 3 somewhere around September and requested to cruise in August of 2008 with two other families who also put in requests (Cat 1 and Cat 3). Not only did they book our cruise and their's, but I requested specific cabin numbers and got them. They are on hold till 2/3 when the deposits are due. IC also gave me the confirmation numbers and that is where I was able to look online at DCL.com and see how much the cruise is going to cost.
Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled for you! The first booking is exciting for us all! But, it seems a little unfair that people are being called to "see if they are still interested" and if they are, they get first dibs on the rooms? That certainly isn't taking people in the order they faxed IC. Again, I'll be excited for everyone who gets what they want, but I'm big on "playing fair".

That makes me wonder if the IC person who called them booked them by mistake. If I remember correctly, last year with the release of the Med cruises folks were called to see if they still had an interest in the new itinerary. Then if the interest was there IC arranged to call back for booking. By doing it that way they could still honor requests in the order they came in.

I hope so. But, how many other reservations might that CM have taken in error? I know I'm being... overly sensitive(?)... if DH wasn't travelling he'd tell me to take a Chill Pill.:rotfl: but two years without a cruise gets to a person

Is it possible that they are calling the categories 1 thru 3 first? I'm not really sure why they haven't called you yet. Did you call IC after you faxed them to make sure they received it?

BTW, when they called us, they never asked if we were still interested, they just assumed we were and asked which date we wanted to sail on. So I don't think, as someone else suggested, that they booked us by mistake. In fact, the IC representative that called me actually took my request for rooms, checked the availability and called me back after he booked our trip.

I am sorry if we were taken before others that submitted requests prior to ours, but I do sincerely hope that everyone on this board has the same opportunity afforded us in booking the Mexican Riviera.

I faxed in March and requested 2 staterooms in cats 1-3 between x & y sail dates (can't remember). I never called to verify receipt of fax and I didn't have a number until tonight. I do know that DU has had my reservation forever it seems. I kinda figured that IC was a room that just took in the faxes, logged them and then handed them to reservations before the general release.

Well, there you go. It's what you get when you "assume" :rotfl2: I'd post it, but I'd get in trouble.:rolleyes1

Maybe DU has already reserved your rooms and that's why IC hasn't called you yet. Maybe they get preference over personal faxes. I don't know. I can only hope.:confused3

FYI - my husband says that some time ago, we received a postcard from IC stating that they had received our fax and my neighbor actually received an email from IC that they received his fax...

We received one as well. oooh, I never thought of including an email heh heh heh (Still waiting on the postcards for '09 and '10. think they're busy? :rotfl2: )

I called IC on Tuesday to confirm receipt of our fax, and they told me that my best bet was to call January 31st and book over the phone. Don't know what that means - still hoping for a phone call - but otherwise I'll be on the phone first thing in the morning, as well as having DU trying to get me a room.

well, I requested one of the two SPH that does not have a connecting door and I got a call! So I don't think it's just the suites! I really don't know what order they call in, because I know there are people who have faxed way before I did! :confused3 Did all of you who faxed IC receive a postcard from them stating that they received your fax?

I really wish they would have called someone from this thread that is anxiously waiting, instead of me, who had to decline! You guys have no idea!! I know how hard it is to wait and how excited you all are!

I have just always assumed that they called on a first come first serve basis. So if the first fax for 2008 came in in, let's say January 2006, those would be the people they call first! I guess not! :confused3

Maybe they're doing August (non-Repo) first.
My request was sent in June of '06...for a suite....for early June '08. I asked for an Eastern, or any "special cruises". No call yet.
So my request was almost the same as dreamcometrue's, except for the month I wanted. No, I see you wanted an SPH....

So I guess we can eliminate that they're calling just for suites.....and they aren't calling in order of requests received.....:confused3

It's all just very confusing! It's not based on Cat 1 - 3 since a number of people, myself included, did request that, and I did receive a postcard when I faxed prior to the Med bookings - and got a call, I turned down. But I never received a postcard this time and someone else on the board stated they thought they had stopped sending the postcard confirmations. At least that was what they had been told. It's all so ODD! If they have started calling why are there so few posts about them. The traffic was fast and furious with the Med cruise once they started. If they haven't started calling then why were a few people called? Was it some kind of booking test? So strange, what is now keeping me going is the realization that all the waiting will be over by Wednesday morning at the latest! If I can just keep my obsessed sanity that long.

Oh, and I DID get a postcard, too.

Want me to make room on the couch for you?? :rotfl:
