Just Got A 40% Off Code

Well I just called to get a quote about possibly taking a christmas trip this year. I told the lady that I had the code. She never asked for it. Only asked for my name and address. She quoted me 1988 for 5 nights at pop with 5 day tickets and dining. I thought that was pretty high with the 40%. (Yes I know 40% is off the room only) The website was down so I couldn't look right then. Well the website is back up and I priced the same thing and it's 1920 with trip insurance, 5 day tix, dining, at pop. WTH? Why is her rate MORE and supposidly she is using my 40% off?? I aked her at least 3 times if that was with the 40% and she said yes. Am I doing something wrong???

They person on the phone would not let me use the code for the room and get the dining plan. He said that I would have to book my room and use the code and then pay out of pocket for all my meals. Is this right?

Looks like one quote is a preferred room and one is a standard room.

OK, I'll add to the confusion even more.

We got a card for this code delivered to our address, but our friends name.

We traveled to WDW with this friend and her family in 2004, but we stayed off site and got tickets through AAA. She and her family traveld back to WDW in 2006, but stayed off site again.

We were back in 2005 and twice in 2007. When I called about this code, there was nothing in my name, DW's name or any of our kids names. I told them that they had the correct address, just the wrong name I was told that -sorry, no the code is connected to the name, not the address.

We're heading back in 2008, and would love to be able to apply this code.

Call back. We got the 40% code last year under my friend's name but at this address and were permitted to use it. Codes are attached to HOUSEHOLD not to the name specifically. As long as at least 1 person from the address that the code is sent to is going on the vacation it can be used.

umm no, i used the 40% off on my package...room (40% off) ddp and ticket,call back talk to someone else...

same thing happened here! Was told that it was only for room... You can still order tickets but they told me that you cant get the disney dining plan.. she said I had to pay out of pocket for that as well. for us-It still comes out to a better deal w/ the 40 off the deluxe room!

call again,i got 40% off room then said i would like to add ddp and ticket...no problem...paid 201.00 a night for akl club level then full price for ddp and ticket...they did not tell you the correct info...yes the code is for room only BUT you can add ddp and tickets to make it a package...did this last year and this time.

did you have a base ticket on line? they probably had park hoppers and water parks and more included on your tickets that they quoted you over the phone

They were base tickets both times. I just need to call back I guess. It really sounded like I was inconviencing the lady making the quote for me. Guess maybe she was having a bad day.

I called twice to check and see if I had a 40% code attached to anyone in my party. Both times they were grumpy. The last one said that it would be attached to my household. Either way, I didn't have one.

Maybe the entire staff is having a bad day.

Okay, just a heads up. I booked the other night with the 40% off code. I used my boss PIN # and when I called, she mentioned an OLD email address that I used 4+ years ago. I gave her the new one (which is what I HAVE been using for the past 4 years for bookings!!) and made my ressie. Didnt think twice, either I was able to use her PIN OR there was one for me under my name. Well today I called to make 2 more reservations 1) for me and my dad and 2) one for just me

She could NOT get it! It took almost 15 minutes on hold and she dug it up under an OLD email address. The one up above that I havent used in 4+ years. But for some reason, it was also not under my last name.. or maybe it was but she wasnt finding it easy.

So keep trying! I wrote down my PIN # this time to avoid the hassle next time.

We were fortunate enough to receive the 40% off code, but I actually think it's going to end up costing us in the end...First, we decied to book an 8 night stay rather than a 7 night stay. Then we changed from December (value) to October (regular) Then we decided to split our stay between the Poly and AKL (4 nights each) Then we decided to go for deluxe dining...my husband says I am a marketer's dream! We got Poly Garden for $239/night & AKL Savannah $207 plus tax, which are both 40% off regular season rates-but it took me at least 5 phone calls to get correct quotes.

I'm thrilled to be able to afford the Poly and the convenience of the monorail with our 5 year old dd and then relaxing a bit at AKl, but it COSTS a lot of money to split stays if you're on a dining plan because of the way you have to have 2 reservations with tix on both so you can't take advantage of one longer ticket price. $345 for 5 of us to be exact. Plus the extra money to stay at the Poly ($288 my choice, yes) for a total of $643. This is eating up my 40% savings!

We are good candidates for the DDDP as we enjoy sit downs and are going to the Hoop De Doo, but I'm re-thinking the purchase of the DDP as it is effecting out ticket prices so much. Right now we have a 7 day PH on one ressie and a 1 day base ticket on the other-this is the cheapest way to price the tix, I think. If I don't purchase the plan, I can buy PH 8 day tix myself and save $345. But I like the DDDP.

Does anyone have any suggestions/tips/opinions?

Why not stay at the Poly the whole time? Was it not available?

I also have to ask if you have ever park hopped with a 5 year old? I have 3 girls, which I know is very different than one, but they get tired. We tried to hop on one day last year and it was one of the worst days of our trip. The kids were too shot. If you get the 8 day base that will also cut costs.

Also, what if only do the dining plan for part of your stay. Maybe do the dining plan while staying at Poly and add a day, then move to AKL for 3 nights and use the 8 day passes from the first reservation. This way you only buy one set of tickets. If you do decide to do the dining plan for both reservations, save the second set of tickets for another trip. Does that make sense?

Thanks for your suggestions so far. We love AKL and are actually only staying at the Poly for the monorail Although I'm sure well love the Poly, too. The reason I like PH tix is we often go to one park during the day and to Epcot for dinner. You DO have to have a ticket to eat in Epcot, don't you?
I think it's really unfair and weird, too, that you can't stay at 2 resorts and use one reservation. Does anyone know the reason for this-besides $ for Disney?

Hi, I don't want to get too far off topic, but to Turtlegirl: yes you'd need a ticket to eat dinner at Epcot. That is the exact reason we park hop also. We like to go to a park in the morning, back to our resort in the afternoon to swim/rest, then to Epcot for dinner and Illuminations at night. This is especially fun when staying at the Epcot resorts because you can walk to Epcot each night!

OMG I am so excited! I was throwing away todays junk mail that DH piled on the counter and saw this big long "Disney" advertisement sticking out. Its the 40% code/pin, I am so excited I just want to die!!! We are going in December and this is huge to us!! I hope everyone gets one who is looking for one!

PS_ My last name is spelled wrong, they added an O,maybe thats why i didnt have one when I called them!!
