Just got a $10 Target gc for opening ebates account

I wanted to buy an Orbitz Disney ticket through ebates to get the 10% cash back, and noticed that they were offering a $10 gc for various places if you opened a new account and spent at least $25. So...I opened a new account in my daughter's name (since the ticket was an additional one for her to join us) and chose a $10 Target gift card. They have posted my pending cash and my gc credit so I'm happy! I already got my $104 check from them for buying the other tickets and now I have another $26 and the gift card coming.

I hope that your daughter is over 18 and doesn't live with you, otherwise she is not eligible to participate in ebates. I'm not sure that they will allow more than 1 account per household/IP address. They never used to. You may find that they audit your "daughter's" account to see if she is actually a new ebates customer. What you did is essentially fraudulent. Ebates can and will cancel accounts that they judge to be bogus and could even cancel your account.

There are better ways to earn a bonus at ebates. If you're already a member, you can earn $50 by referring 2 friends who each sign up and makes a purchase of $25 or more in their first 90 days. Good through 12/31/2013. Check ebates.com/tellafriend for details.

I also emailed ebates (directly to a manager) and told them I'd opened this account in my daughter's name. My point was not to encourage people to open multiple accounts to get a bonus, just an FYI that there IS a bonus for signing up.

I did try the "refer a friend" thing but doubt any of my friends will use it.

You could have "referred" your daughter and gotten $5 in your account in addition to her getting the $10 GC.

I didn't think of that. I just wanted to get her a ticket...the gift card was a bonus I wasn't expecting. Looks like I'm immoral AND stupid
