just go back from pofq some good ,some bad

We had the same problem with the busses at DTD when we stayed at CBR. We waited forever for a bus and were the only ones at the stop and then when the bus came, a million drunks came rushing the bus and shoved my kids out of the way. One was shoved down under the wheels of the bus and the other was being smashed between the crowd and the bus. Another gentleman tried to hold the crowd off but he was overcome. The bus driver stood there the whole time watching and saying nothing. A group of CMs were at the end of the row of stops and did nothing. My kids were crying (esp the one who found herself under the wheels of a bus) and bruised/scraped up. I finall yelled at the bus driver that my kid was shoved under the bus so he wouldn't take off and kill her!

I contacted Disney Transportation immediately and reported the situation. I think you should write them and report your frustration as well. They can't fix what's broken if they don't know it's broken, even if it seems like common sense.

Glad you enjoyed the rest of your trip though!

I hope you reported this incedent to the resort and that some sort of comp was given to you. They really need someone monitoring this situation at Westside in the evening as they do at POFQ in the morning. We never had any trouble at the resort. Yes, people cut in front of you. But that happens everywhere, not just at Disney. The only time this is an issue at the resort is on the way to MK. But driving your own vechile means you have to transfer at the TTC to the monorail or the ferry. It would likely take just as much time. You could always take the bus to Epcot, then take the monorail to MK via TTC.

Another ? Do they sell actual Mardi Gras souvenirs there? I am a French teacher and we always do a big party in school. I'm always on the lookout for authentic materials to display in my room.

TIA!

We often stay at POFQ -- they have some Mardi Gras themed stuff there (mostly items with masks and harlequins on them) -- but not very much.

One of our big disappointments is that the adult clothing isn't really themed to POFQ -- there's "generic" Port Orleans stuff, heck Riverside even has some items that are different (ladies wear with magnolia blossoms). On our last visit, we told one of the food and beverage managers (who we've come to know quite well) that merchandising could be doing a much better job with the resort-items.

We went in March for 10 days and never had a problem with the buses. Maybe it just wasn't as busy in March as it is during the summer.

We are just back from 2 weeks at Riverside and we were a bit concerned about the buses as we'd heard loads of bad things about it but to be honest it was fine. Our longest wait was about 15 minutes at MK one night but they soon got 3 buses to clear the Riverside stop. Though one night we did west, north, east until we got to south and everyone got off there.

I have stayed at POFQ 4 times and never had a real problem with the buses. In fact, the only reason I stay on Disney property and pay their high prices is for the transportation. I have stayed off-site, and hate the parking lots and the trams. There are lots of line cutters at the trams too. Oh well, nothing is perfect, but Disney's bus system does a pretty good job moving thousands of people a day!
