ok I am a SAHM I have been for 13 yrs now...well my youngest will be going to school next year and I knew I would get a part time job while she was in school...weeeellll thurs I was in one of my fav home stores looking for pictures for my wall and got to talking to the mang. and she talked me into filling out a app for part time (like weekend work) :scared1: she called me for a interview the very next day and I go in today to discuss it with her!! I am excited and the little extra cash will be nice but I have not been to work in YEARS! I figured the extra cash could go to wdw trips and extras we might want. The thing is dh is a LEO so I work arounf his schedule...she even said "the hours are not set its flexable" I figured if I did a few days a week now that when she goes to school I could do more hours during the week because I already have my foot in the door.
Would you spend that time away from your family for so little pay (its not rocket science work)? The pay is not the biggest thing to be really.I admit I have a big fat O in the work exper. dept. haha

Congratulations on your new job! I hope it works out well for you.

I would take it in a heartbeat- its great to get out make some money and function in the adult world even if its just for a few hours a week!

THAT was my thought also...my dh agrees but if nothing else so I can get out for a while...we live in the county so not alot of neighbors and he said it would give me time away from cartoons and legos haha and he has no problem being here with the kids spending time with them while I work.He said it was 100% my choice.

I'd take it. Worst case, if you really don't like it, or it does not work out, you can quit. Can't hurt to try it out.

Best case is that is leads to more hours later on, and it gives you some work experience for other jobs.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Take it!! My youngest starts kindergarten in the fall too and I actually have worked from Dec 07' to July 09, but have been unemployed since and it's hard for long time SAHM's to find jobs! You just never know what can happen in life, so take it for fun and extra cash, but if anything ever happened to your dh, you'd have a reference and experience! (my DH lost his job, that's what I mean)

I stayed home when my kids were young (I never knew what hard work WAS until I had kids and stayed home with them!!!) and took in a few kids for daycare.
It's always freeing to have a little money of your own:goodvibes

When I went back into the work force, I admit it was nice to have outside adult company and discussion--I think, in hindsight, the stimulation of working outside of the home was good for me and my family.

I'd try it and see how you adjust.:thumbsup2

I'd take it in a heartbeat...so hard to find any job right now and with 0 exp like you said consider yourself very blessed ...a foot in the door could lead to great things for you and your family Congrats !

I think I'd take it and try it. It just feel into your lap. I'd take it hoping I could get some better hours for when my kids were at school later. If not, when school starts, I'd have to think long and hard about being away from my kids on their time off when I don't "need" the money.

freak out, get the nervous jitters, butterfly in the stomach, and have fun with it. Even just a few hrs a week will help you out a lot, and make you less stressed at home.

...DEFINITELY! It'll get you back to conversing and relating with other adults. Who knows? It could lead to bigger and better things in the future...

well I met with her today and took it! I will start next week sometime.I even told her up front that we had our family wdw trip planned for a week in Dec and she said "no problem at all" because they hire extra help for the holidays that are not allowed to take off because its "holiday help" so no problems...she will even work around my dh schedule (cop) so he can watch the kids. She hired she right away when I went in.Its a Kirklands home store...I even get a discount! :cool1: which is great because I get all my house stuff like pictures, mirrors ect ect from there.
