I just found out that we are getting possession of our new home on Sept. 9th:cheer2: This is our first time moving from one house to another house.

The last time we moved it was from an apartment to a house and was not a big deal. We have been in this house for 7yrs and now have 2 children - needless to say we have tons more stuff to move.

I was wondering if any of you would have any last minute moving suggestions for my DH and I to make this experience a little less complicated. We are leaving for WDW 8 days after we move and that is really stressing me out also.

Thanks for your help

Hire a good moving company and agree on a price beforehand. ::yes::

We have never moved, been here for 33 years and each of us moved from our parent's homes when we got married (no living togther back then), so we have never moved anywhere, LOL. Good wishes on the move, and enjoy WDW. Try and make the Indy meet on the 5th.

I've moved many times, but generally from apartment to apartment and finally apartment to a house. No house to house experience, but I would agree on hiring a moving company. Moving yourself is such a pain in the rear end.

Good luck to you and congrats on the new house!:D

Getting a moving company to do all the big stuff is a good thing. I moved 2 times in the last 8 months, across the country and then locally. I am too old and tired to be schlepping the king sized bed up the stairs to the second floor, and the washer and dryer, etc. I suppose if you have a bunch of friends who wouldn't mind helping, you could rent a truck and do it all your self. One thing for sure, what you pack up, you may leave in boxes for a while. My basement has a lot of boxes, we have been in the house a month. Tomorrow I will be unpacking a few more, maybe.

Best of luck! I love to move, but I hate moving.
