I am going to accompany my hubby to a convention in Anaheim in 30 days! Yipee! But, I am overwhelmed with questions.

First- DH will be in the convention all day until 5:00. I plan to hit the parks solo some, but is there any way to get WOC fastpasses since his card will not be activated?

Second- If we buy the 3 day convention tickets or 3 day discount tickets through mousesavers, can they be upgraded to 4 day if we decide to go an extra day?

Third- has anyone driven to the coast and how far/ What beach? I would just like to see the pacific!!(Ohio id the most west I have ever been!)

Fourth- We are celebrating our 15th anniversary. Anything special we should do? Eat?:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks!
Alicia

Just to answer your first question.

No you can't get the FP for WoC without him entering the parks. You could order the picnics under your name and pick them up that afternoon, they come with tickets. Or you could do a dinner that evening.

1) Not that I'm aware of. All regular fast-pass systems only work for activated tickets. You might be tempted to try to get around that but it'll likely lead to problems with the hand stamp. Will your husband be right there at the Anaheim Convention Center? If so, he could take a break and run over for lunch/fastpass. If not, and if you're set on seeing WoC, one of the dining options would be best.

2) You'd best check with your ticket source or Disney on this one. It would get tricky depending on how many days are left on your 3-day tickets when you decide to extend your trip. If they'll even do it. IMHO, it'd be best to decide before you purchase whether you want to spend the extra $15/person for a 4th day. $30 isn't a life-changing amount of money and there's no question the simplest way to get 4 days is to buy them in advance. :)

3) It's about 20 miles to the closest beaches. I'm not a beach person 'cause I'm afraid I'd get towed back out to sea so I couldn't tell you which ones are best. Of course, "best" depends on whether you like crowds or quiet, cliffs or bluffs, etc. Definitely a quick and easy side trip. Maybe a run southwest to Seal Beach then down Hwy 1 to Newport for a nice dinner. If you google "best beaches in orange county", you'll get a lot of information.

4) See #3. Oh, and Blue Bayou. Make BB reservations now if you decide eat there.

I would do the picnic option. It's not super expensive and gives you a FP without having to have your DH in parks early.

For your anniversary dinner, I would totally recommend the Napa Rose, at GCH - especially if you're a foodie :)

On our anniversary trip we did the Segway tour, Fantasmic Dessert seating and ate dinner at Blue Bayou.

In terms of extending your tickets to a 4th day if you only have 3, you will have to do it at the box office at Disneyland, and you will pay the difference between what you paid for your 3 day tix and the cost of a 4 day ticket.

Like someone said, the extra $30 bucks is not bad, but it could be more or less than doing it at Dland. You'd have to check current pricing on 4 day tickets to see if its worth it.

If you use up all 3 days and come on the 4th day and try to upgrade, they won't let you, because your ticket has expired, so upgrade on your 3rd day before the park closes.
