Just For Fun: Most Disgusting Food at WDW

From what I am reading, how does Disney manage to screw up pizza and other basic foods so badly? Poor quality ingredients, cooks that don't care or something else?

I don't know about the pizza, but for a lot of these foods, it sounds like the kitchen really had an 'off' night when people tried it (Or maybe LOTS of off nights, lol)

I've had several of these foods before and they were nothing the way people are describing. Not that I'm doubting what you guys had - just that I think that cook did something terribly wrong with it!! Its kind of sad though really, I mean, no one should be served stale chips for nachos or rotton tomatoes on a hamburger! Those seem like they should be such easy things to fix with a little bit of quality control.

I don't know what's wrong with the pizza though. That stuff is just gross Bad ingredients and bad recipe, maybe?

I totally agree with the turkey leg--it totally made me feel sick!

Also the chili from CHH after riding on Stitch---blech! That smell of chili dogs is so disgusting. I am avoiding both from now on.

For all the people that hate the turkey leg I do believe that if they quit selling them that the fans of turkey legs are in such great (albeit quiet) numbers that they would shut down the disney phone lines in anger.

I will stand up and proudly proclaim my love for the Turkey Leg. I have to be civilized everywhere and in everything I do in life these days. When I am destroying the limb of a large dead bird it is one of the most librerating experiances in my life. I am carnivore, hear me digest meat!!!!

I am also realizing that the entire of the Hollywood studios food services needs an overhaul.

I do however agree that Disney needs to hire a pizza hut or dominoes chef because their pizza is absolutely abysmal.

Across the board, Disney pizza is not good. Some is more tolerable than others, Wolfgang Puck's is actually GOOD, but most of it

If we're there on a long enough visit we usually get take out from a local place

I had a steak at the Maya Grill @ CSR that tasted like ashes... One bite (which i discreetly spit out in my napkin) and I was all set.

Great post. I really think that it's not the taste of the turkey leg that is the issue for most. After all it tastes a lot like ham (hence the nickname that many use, ham on a stick). I think the majority of non kosher meat eaters like ham. I think it's the size and the barbaric look of eating one of those darn things.

As a family we gnaw on on or two of those during a trip. Does it look gross, probably. But if guests can walk around the world wearing fanny packs and crocs, I can proudly eat a turkey leg.

I have to agree with the CS in the China Pavillion. My sister and I were so excited to try it - and we ended up tossing in the trash. Even the ice cream (and I LOVE green tea ice cream) was narsty.

I also had a very disgusting steak and a worse dessert at (believe it or not) Rose and Crown last year. I'm hoping it was an off night and I'm willing to try again. I just can't accept the fact that one of my favorite restaurants is now terrible!

How to make a WDW pizza at home.

Take a paper plate, put some tomato sauce on it top with newspaper mixed with mozzarella cheese.

I've eaten pizza at Pizzafari and Pop. I refuse to eat anymore of it. It's awful. How hard is it to make a decent pizza? Imagine the cheap pizzas in the freezer section, but only worse.

Also, if the Beverly is suppose to cleanse your palate for the next course, just what are you eating? Pizza at WDW??

Now I am worried...we have breakfast ADRs at Hollywood & Vine (my son's favorite characters!); breakfast at Chef Mickey's; spending a day at Hollywood Studios and seems like all CS food there stinks according to other posts I have read; Liberty Tree Tavern dinner one night (DS is also a big Goofy fan...actually loves most Disney characters!); and now I am not sure about Ohana because I read another thread about the food changing and seriously going downhill.....

Pizza is something I never like to get out of my hometown of Brooklyn, NY! Or at least outside of NYC. I am what some might call a "pizza snob" because I am so spoiled by NY pizza. Chicago natives, please don't laugh! I know you all think our pizaa does not even compare to the Chicago stuff, but I have never been there to be fair. I think Chicago might be the only other place I would be psyched to try the pizza. I am literally afraid to try it at WDW but DS3 loves pizza and is too young (I think) to be that picky. But I do love a good burger, even a "CS-style" one, if you will. Where could I get a good one in a non-TS restaurant?

So what is a good CS place? Perhaps I should start another thread...I think I will!

I must defend my beloved turkey legs also. It is really hard to understand that there are that many people that hate the turkey legs when everytime I am eating one, I get atleast a dozen people wanting to know where I got it so they can get one. I'm justa walking billboard for the turkey leg!!!

Now for the bad food.... the only thing I've had that was really bad was root vegetable hash at 50s Prime Time. That had to be the worst stuff I've ever eaten!!! Actually, nothing we had there was good except DS had a good drink....

I had an open faced salmon sandwich at Coral Reef, and the salmon was not cooked nearly enough - quite raw in the middle, and the bbq sauce on it just did not complement the salmon - raw or cooked. I picked at it for awhile, but couldn't really eat it. Thank goodness I had had a good appetizer and dessert was coming. I did tell the waiter that I didn't finish it because of it being raw. They didn't offer to do anything about it, but I didn't make a fuss because I was full enough with my other food.

I Just thought of another one that was so horrible. I got the Christmas Dinner at The Pepper Market. Everything else I had gotten from there was great but I figured hey its Christmas Ill get the special... WRONG WRONG WRONG...
The Ham was SLIMEY and DRY at the same time ( really now how does that work?) The stuffing was cold and basically the consistancy of bread pudding and the veggies were from the asian side of the market so they had soy sauce all over them. The best part was the cranberry sauce that you could tell was fresh out of the can!!!

I learned to stop worrying about other people's reviews and just see for yourself what you like! I was so worried before we went because some places had bad reviews, but I actually like a lot of those 'nasty' CS places others have commented on. It all depends on you. So I say keep your plan and see for yourself!

Personally, the worst food I ate was from Sci-Fi. The milkshake was okay, but then the onion rings and spinach dip were both tasteless and dry. My BBQ Chicken sandwich was almost inedible.

Oh this is easy! The sausage gravy and biscuits at Pop Century! It was horrible!! I can't even begin to describe how gross it all was... The gravy was this disgusting grey color and had the consistency of .... Ok I can't even think of anything to compare it to but it was awful!

The BBQ Pork sub roll at the DHS counter service place next to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area was really bad.

As a rule, Southerners tend to not like overly prepared BBQ. We like to be able to see what the meat looked like before it was smothered in sauce. We usually find that restaurants cover the BBQ for a reason. I knew what I was getting into, but none of the other choices looked very good either.

I should have gotten the Chicken Caesar on pita bread, but...that is never my 1st choice.
