Just for fun.. Best deal you have ever got!

5 pairs of white walking shoes in various sizes of stride rite baby shoes while I was pregnant with my first DD.

2.00 per pair

I have shopped there several times and have a loyalty discount of 20% they applied which made the deal 1.80 for each pair of shoes. After paying tax I got change back from my 10 dollar bill.

A copy of the unrated version of Dawn of the Dead on dvd for 99 cents.

This is a tough question, because I'm always bargain shopping.

The first thing that pops to mind is our Peg Perego GT3 jogging stroller. The original price was $749, and I got it for $149 (discontinued color). When we are finished using it, I anticipate getting most or all of my money back by selling it on Craigslist.

This is a tough one because that is all I do is bargain shop...but last week I bought a dress for my daughter and the price tag said $128.00. I knew it was on sale so when I asked them what it would ring up she said $4.99...and I had a 20% off coupon so I paid $3.99 for a $128.00 dress.

What is the best deal you have ever gotten?

Could be any thing from a shirt to a house..

For me I would say the best deal I ever got was a 10 day cruise for 399 dollars per person.

Wow. How'd you score that one?

I'm not sure what the best deal I ever got was, but I remember when online shopping was fairly new, I had coupon codes at Eddie Bauer and got my sister in law's Christmas present: a sweater set (cardigan and shell) and garnet/gold earrings for free!

I have alot, due to only buying stuff on sale and bargain shopping, but here are my most recent. I changed phone carriers from Tmobile to Verizon and the phone I wanted was the new Droid X, well I looked around online and found it avaliable for $69 on a site with a free $100 walmart gift card. I could only find the phone anywhere else for around $199 So I ordered it. I also Donated about $50 to the United Way and got entered into a contest and won a new HP Probook laptop a few months ago. Best $50 I spent in a while :thumbsup2 and last was around November I had to get a new car and found a 2010 Sebring that had 45,000 miles for $11,600 still has warranty and everything!

Last year I got a brand new stainless steel Maytag Dishwasher for half price! It was originally $1100 - but Sears accidentally put the wrong sale price of $500. They had to give it to me for that! WOOO! :woohoo:

Around 6 or 7 years ago Circuit City had a double XBox 2 in 1 game pack. It was tagged $99.99, not that it was worth that much though. I had read online it was a penny and it did ring up for a penny. Not as good but last week at KMart I bought a pair of jean shorts that were originally $21.99 and had a 50 cents sticker on them. I thought it was a mistake and they rung up for 30 cents (40% off clearance clothing).

I just scored a white Kenmore Elite dishwasher for FREE on Craigslist. The couple was remodeling, and the less than two year old washer did not match their new kitchen, but it matched mine perfectly. I priced that model at $700 online.

Some of the stuff we get amazes DH. I can usually get stuff for pennies on the dollar, or that is the goal at least!

A beautiful blue London Fog trench coat, like new, for $2.
A cool Old Navy corduroy jacket, like new, again for $2.
I scored many $2 bargains in my favorite thrift store. I am still lamenting the loss of that store, as it burned to the ground late last year.

This past Christmas I was making gift baskets for some of my extended family (aunts, cousins, etc.), I was putting things in them like bowls/soup spoons, homemade soup mixes, crackers, etc.

Anyway, I went to Michael's craft store to buy some baskets, I picked out several that were supposed be between $10 - $20 on sale, but they were pretty and decorative with fabric liners and stuff. Well, I got to the cash register and the girl rang them up and they all rang up 1 cent a piece. I was so shocked, I asked if that was right and she scanned them again and said "I guess so, that's what they are ringing up. Merry Christmas!" and it surely was a nice surprise. I was amazed, it's certainly the best deal I've gotten that I can remember and I must say that the gift baskets were some of the nicest and cheapest gifts ever.

Let's see getting a oil change and brand tires at Wal-mart for free because the debit/credit card machine was down. In the same store order 200.00 worth groceries for cookout for the hoilday weekend. I think the total price was 700.00 dollars that got for free.

We bought my dream house for $25,000, free and clear. Being able to say I owned my home outright at 30 years old makes that the bargain to trump all bargains in my life!

We have a bunch of really nice freebies from when DH was managing a moving company when we first met - an Ethan Allen kids' bedroom set with desk that was in like-new shape, an antique dining room table & chairs that is still our everyday set, a solid oak entertainment center that we ended up selling for $250 when we moved. That was how he first got into woodworking - refinishing and selling some of the things customers were giving away or leaving behind.

DH's F250 work truck was free to us, he just had to fly down to FL (the previous owner paid for the ticket) and drive the truck up here, towing a boat. The previous owner is a friend of the family who was selling his FL place; he used to keep one truck here and another there rather than drive back and forth, so he just didn't need the second truck when he sold the vacation home.

There are others, but those are the ones that stand out in my mind as personal bests.

best deal ever would have to be my best friends wedding dress. I bought her wedding dress 3 years before she was getting married before she was even engaged. I know laugh but it was a silk and lace with crystal and pearls all hand sewn Valentino gown I know but wait its better it was a size 0 and in perfect condition. I bought it on the last day filenes basement was open and paid a whopping $20 for it. I had to buy it she was the only person it would fit. It was fate and it fit her beautifully on her wedding day. She said no thats not for me when I first showed it to her and she must have forgotten it because when she got engaged and they set a date I asked her to try it on and she cried because it was perfect. Honestly I don't know how or where that dress was kept but it was in pristine condition and retailed for just over 6k still had the original tags on it. I so miss the old basement you could actually get real high end designer samples and clothes from fashion shows in the bubble but not anymore now you have to go to ny or paris and rummage the sample sales so sad.....

I've had a few "pretty good deals." Some years ago I saw a post online where you could get a second mortgage, and if you loan to value was higher than your payoff it effectively became your primary. Refi'd to 5.5% ( a good rate at that time) for a TOTAL cost of $10 (yep, ten dollars).

Other strokes of good luck :
Opened a savings account with the promo of a free Handspring Visor (Palm Pilot competitor). They sent me two.

Bought a LCD monitor for $100 with a $100 rebate. They sent two $100 rebate checks.

Bought a printer for $40 and got $80 in rebates.

We did a Marriott timeshare presentation for a promo that I have not seen before or since - two Dolphin Swim tickets at discovery cove. There was some cost involved but if my memory serves me we stayed in a two bedroom at Cypress Harbour for a week + the tickets for about $700.

The first thing that comes to mind is a dress that I bought at a thrift store for $3 and I sold for $1500.

Another is a purse that jumped out at me from the thrift store rack, my first thought was "that is quality!" Sure enough it was a high end designer brand, so I paid the $6 for it. I contacted the company and not only was it authentic, it was a current style that was still being sold in the store. The BEST part is, I've been using it for about 8 years and it still looks brand new. Quality lasts.

Our best Disney Deal: A few years ago for our anniv. we cashed in dh frequent flyer miles for a split stay between the Polynesian and the Yacht Club. I think it was 3 days at each.

When we arrived at each resort we were upgraded to club level for free too.

So 6 days at Disney hotels, club level - all for free!!

I get awesome deals all the time. Some of my favorite are: I once got a $160 skirt for a penny at Bloomingdales. The best ever was the expedia.ca deal from slickdeals. 9 of us got to go to Radio City Music Christmas Show for free and 6 of us ate at Hard Rock Cafe for free! Plus I got a $50 spa gift certificate for free! I donated toys for tots and got 3 free tickets to Toy Story on Ice and the seats were up close too! After coupons, I got several free toys this past Christmas and the Christmas before. I got a great deal on a weekend stay at Gurney's Inn on Craigslist. It is a Montauk hotel and goes for over $300 a night but we got the whole weekend for $250! I once got a last minute 2 night cruise out of New York for $159 a person! And the list goes on.
