Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought, it actually was fun!!! We left Central NJ around 3:30am and had no traffic through DC. We stopped for the night at 5:30pm in Brunswick, GA. We also had approx 2 hours of stops for food and gas during this time, so 12 hours of driving to Brunswick. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Brunswick, and it was o.k., but me being a clean freak had a few issues. There was some mold around the stopper for the tub, and there was also a TON of mold in the ventilation for the fan. I don't know if we'd stay here again. We then left Brunswick around 8:00AM and we then drove to South FL to visit relatives. There was no traffic to report. We then left WDW around 8:30AM and drove to Fayetteville, NC for the night,we arrived at 5:00pm. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn, and it was an o.k. place, but I again had cleanliness issues. The beds were also so bouncy here it was like sleeping on a trampoline!!! We then left Fayetteville at 7:00AM and flew home, with only a little traffic delay at the tunnel in Baltimore. We arrived home a little after 3:00pm. We will drive again next summer, it's best for our longer WDW trips, and it was kind of fun. We will be trying different hotels next time, hopefully for slightly better beds and cleaner!!! Any questions, please ask!!

Thanks for the update on the stop overs. We will be driving from NY in April and I am always happy to get trip reports.

Thanks for the report. I'm assuming Fayetteville will be about 14 hours for us!

We're going to stay at the Holiday Inn there. What is available in Fayetteville for food?

We're also going to drive at night... any tips for late night/early morning driving?

The only thing to eat in Fayetteville is a Cracker Barrel and your usual McDonald's type fare. I didn't see the Holiday Inn, it must have been on the other side of I-95 from where we stayed. As to driving at night, we didn't do any, except for the first 2 hours of our trip.

Thanks for the report. We are driving down in Sept. from Northern NJ. We have done it before but this time our son is
3 1/2 the last time he was 8 months old. Should be an interesting trip! We will be staying over some place for the night. Did you hit any construction? I ordered a Triptik from AAA and it shows construction in a couple of areas.

Yes, we did hit some construction on NC and also just south of Jacksonville. There really weren't any delay, just slower than usual moving. By the way, none of this construction was noted on our Trip Tiks.
