We are going to be be spending five days in the park next month, but the last day of our trip is a blackout day. If I have understood correctly we can upgrade our five day hoppers to APs the final day and still have access to the parks even though it is blacked out - right? And they will also apply the purchase price of our hoppers towards the APs? I just don't want to mess this up!

umm i wouldnt upgrade till the vary end of you'll last day couse becouse its blacked out i dont think youd get back in

I did this in June and I swear to you that I upgraded on a blackout day - and was given a "receipt" showing that I upgraded. I was then asked upon hopping to DCA (and hopping back) to show that receipt - showing that I had started out as a PH and it was ok. I am not sure if they have changed this policy - so hopefully someone else will jump in.

Last year we upgraded on a black out day. We had no problems hopping or getting in on the blackout day.

Best bet is to call or e-mail Disney to find out the answer, but I believe that you will be able to hop on the last day after you do the upgrade. Or you can wait to the very end of the day to upgrade when you are leaving the park for the day and you won't have any problems.
