Just did the Grocery Order - we pleasantly surprised.

Well my trip this weekend has snuck up on me. It's too late now to order from NetGrocer and ensure it will be delivered on time. Thus I headed off to the Members only website and printed off the grocer order sheet. While the selection is somewhat limited compared to Netgrocers, the price were not as outrageaous as I expected. Yes it was higher than I would pay at Kroger, but I am already hesitate about taking my "Demon" nephew with us, I am not about to take him to a grocery store.

I will report back as to the the delivery of the items to the room.

Last May I did an advance grocery order at OKW, when I recieved the bill, they had reduced the price by 35%. The next trip I made in June and I ask about this and no one knew anything about that discount. But I can show you the bill where they took the 35% off. I even posted a threat about this when I returned but no one seemed to know what happened. You may luck out as well.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's Netgrocer and how does it work?

Is it another way of getting your shopping delivered to your room in WDW?

Netgrocer is exactly that, an internet grocer store. www.netgrocer.com They will deliver anywhere that UPS delivers. You can order most any non-perishable supplies and have them delivered to the DVC resort. Just be sure to include "Guest Arriving on .........." with your name in the shipping address. I always order a week in advance and have never had a problem of not getting there on time. When I check-in at the resort, the front desk tells me that I have a package waiting. I then just have bell services deliver it to my room along with my luggage.

I have found there prices to be comparable to my local Kroger. Of course they charge a shipping charge, but they don't charge sales tax.

Maybe they thought you were a CM. I have a friend who used to work at TDS and did her grocery shopping at the OKW store because she got her discount (I think she got 35% when she was over 3 years).

We ordered with the form from the website in May. Though we didn't get a % discount, the price we were charged for some items was less than what had been printed on the order form...

Wow! We may have to consider this on a future trip (though we usually drive and have a cooler to bring stuff along).

I may be imagining things again....

But, I thought there was something on the web site or in a VM saying that Members were going to get a discount on the room delivery. I'm not sure if it was just for a limited time. I thought maybe it was an incentive to get us to give it a try.
