We are not big eaters, not doing Dining Plan. Breakfast in the RV, lunch at Park, back to Fort Wilderness to let the Princess Yorkie out and Dinner in RV. But I LOVE desserts when on vacation !!!!!!!!!!

Will we be welcome to just eat dessert at TS restaurants ????

Has anyone out there done this ?????

YM:

I have to warn you. This sometimes turns into a hot topic. Some people feel that you should not take a table from a family who wants to eat a full meal. Not only do you take an AR time slot, but the waitstaff does not get as much of a tip on a dessert onlt table v/s a full meal table. In fact, I ahve heard that some restaurants (like California Grill) will not even allow you to make an AR for dessert only.

I really don't know how I feel about it personally since I can see both sides of the coin.

Definitely do it, but arrange it for "off-times". 2:30 - 4 is usually a good time to do it as not as many people are looking for the table for a meal, you're ready to get off your feet, and the restaurants are much more quiet. Also, the servers are not trying to rush you out nearly as quickly so you can really savor the treat and enjoy your coffee and such.

No flames please !!!!!

We are from New Orleans (food central) and find that the food at WDW is not that good, rather ordinary but it is better than most theme park food. I guess we are used to good old Cajun food (spicy and full of flavor) !!!

We have the RV and fill the freezer with gumbo, jambalaya, shrimp creole, etc. for our trip but as I said earlier, I love desserts when on vacation !!!

The dessert pictures on the Board are awesome and I can't wait to try them.

Thanks for the heads-up on the times to head out for "dessert only" !!!

no longer allows people to just order desserts. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

you can eat as much or little as you want at ts imo, just don't forget depending on when you are going, sometimes there is a long wait even with an adr. that is probably the only thing that would stop me...an hr wait for dinner is one thing, but an hr for dessert would be to long for me...also don't forget there are plenty of great bakeries ( FrAnce, Boardwalk( crumb cake...yum) come to mind for me) if you want to take it with you instead of burning up park hrs.

We're going Dec. 3 - 16. Parks usually close early and after dinner at camper, we'll head out for dessert.

Agreeing w/Jann. If you follow the "procedures" like getting ADR, showing up for it, etc, eat whatever you want and don't eat what you don't want. If the menu selection monitors ding you, well, send them pixie dust thoughts and maybe they'll spread magic and joy instead of monitoring :sunny:
