Didn't the member that you are renting from, take the time to explain how renting from a DVC member works? Shame on them.

you can add DME and the dining plan to DVC rentals (but the DVC owner will need to add them for you, since renters cannot speak with MS.) you also get all other onsite benefits, like free parking at the parks and EMH.

BTW, there is never "free dining" on points stays in case that was unclear.
