just curious...where have you had best and worst bus service?

i have often heard that the value resorts have better bus service than some of the others. those of you that have tried many resorts, where has your best bus service been?

I agree, I've had good service at ASMu both times I've stayed there.

Best bus service hands down goes to AKL.

Worst service (not awful....just not real good) was at GF.

Have not had *bad* bus/transportation service in either of our stays.

WL - excellent - not more than a 5-10 minute wait last Sept.

CR - very good, not excellent because the trip to Epcot is a PITA (pain in the ***). You have to switch monorails, would have preferred a direct bus.

Best: All Stars, definitely.

Worst: Fort Wilderness - now that is a pain, especially if you need an internal bus with 3 small kids and 2 strollers.

Best: The Dolphin. We never had any problems there at all. WL was really good too. Only one or two longish waits, nothing too bad at all.

Worst: Coronado Springs. There was only one time the entire week that people weren't standing up on the bus, and that was an afternoon when it was pouring rain. And the waits were usually long for buses there.

Worst -CBR- first weekend in May- wasn't horrible, but with alll those internal stops..... it's like, let's LEAVE already!!!!!


Good- ASSp- very good service-Columbus and Veteran's day weekends.

Worst..BC..the buses are usually FULL ...and take a long time to get anywhere.

However, I really do think that the WDW Transportation CMs do a GREAT job!

We also found the FW bus set-up to be a real pain and to take a lot of time, but it worked exactly as it is supposed to.

Although we have stood many times going home to the YC, we've never had any trouble in the a.m. -- at Sports, a couple hundred people who got to the stop by 7:30 missed almost all of emh at MK b/c it was 8:45 by the time we got into the park.

just back and while waiting for MK bus there were 3 Animal Kingdom/BB and 3 Downtown Disney/TL(empty at 8:30am), before there was one for MK and then it was nearly full. Tried getting on at Swan another day after breakfast at Spoodles and the same thing happened. This is the only trip there has really been a problem with buses for us. Seems strange to have 5 stops on one bus route that is supposed to be for deluxe resorts. Can hardly wait to try AKL at Christmas. AKL and OKW - yea yea yea!

Another vote for Caribbean Beach. The slowest ever. We usually rent a car but take the bus if we plan on drinking that evening. The pickup and ride are painfully slow coming from and going to the resort.

We stayed at All Star Sports in July when the parks were absolutley packed, and we found the bus transportation to be MUCH better and easier than we had expected. We took the bus 20 times during our stay and not once did we wait longer than 20 minutes (usually it was more like 5 or 10). The buses were generally fairly full, though, and the DTD route was very uncomfortably (almost dangerously, IMO) packed both times we rode.

I will say that we avoided EMH during our July trip; doing EMH might have made a difference in our opinion of the bus service--we saw hugely long lines early each morning for that day's EMH park, and we were always glad we weren't waiting in those lines!

I guess it really would depend on how busy a time you are there. We stayed at AKL during a very busy time and the bus service was the best we've ever had.
We stayed at Wilderness Lodge during an off time and the transportation couldn't possibly have been any worse than it already was. One of the reasons we decided never to stay there again.

To be far, Disney was just implementing the Bus On Demand thing while we were at the Allstars and maybe they hadn't worked the kinks out yet. But it was AWFUL!
