I read on Dizpins yesterday the wealth of information that theodore uncovered for us about the August event. I am curious how everyone feels about they way they have structured the event?

All I know is that I am very excited. From what I see, it looks good to me. I have never been to one of the events, though. I still want to see a little more info on the seminars and workshops.

I think it sounds great! I'm very excited!!! Of course, I havn't been to any other pin events, so I don't have anything to compare the August one to. But from what I've read about them all, the August one sounds wonderful. It sounds like maybe people will have a better chance of getting some of the pins they want, without getting in line for them at 3:00 in the morning. But, to be quite honest, I think getting in line for them at 3:00 in the morning sounded pretty exciting also! :) I just wish I had a picture of the 'Lottery Form' for the pins, so I could get a better idea of what to expect from that.

Sounds good so far... I like the fact that the edition sizes are higher than I thought they would be. It will make the chances better of getting them. And still be able to sleep in.

Nat,
I am going to have to agree with you about the edition sizes. This makes it easier for people who are not going to the event to get the pins. It does sound like it will be a blast for all who are going! I just can't get a clear picture in my head of what it will look like inside.

I think all of it will be very exciting too! And I agree with you Nat that sleeping in will be nice. (although I havce a really hard time sleeping past 6:00 am when I am at WDW :) ) I am suprised, however, that we have to go to epcot every day to sign up for the RSP and then return again after four to find out if we were chosen. I was under the impression that if you registered for the breakfast, you would automatically be entered? EITHER WAY, I CANT WAIT TO BE THERE!!!!! Am I the only one who thinks about the event 1000 times a day? (I Doubt it :) )

The problem with letting those of us who are going to the breakfast is not everyone of them will be there for the whole weekend. So allowing them to be presigned would casue confussion when they did not show up. This way only those there wil get pins... And have a better chance.

Absolutely NOT!!! I'm even dreaming about it. Of course, I sure hope I have better luck getting pins at the real event than I have in my dreams!

I can't wait either. I check my countdown calender on my computer hourly. I am getting so excited.
I have been to some of the other events this year but I am looking forward to this one more. I don't know if it is the fact that we will have so many new pins to try for or the fact that I will get to meet so many of you.
I was thinking about it in the car today and if Disney doesn't have a big event every year we on the boards will have to plan one ourselves. Only we have to try and plan far in advance so more of us can go. I really can't wait to meet so many of you. Jeff I am looking forward to your meet more and more.
And I also agree with Nat, the fact that there will be higher editions makes me a little more sure that I will get a few more than just what I will get at the breakfast.
The only pins I am a little nervous about are the dangle pins and the 100 years pins. I would hate not being able to get them since I have all the others from those sets.

Like everyone else Im extremely excited along with Peggie I have a countdown going on right now. All the festivities that are planned sound awesome and I cant wait to experience this event first hand with all the rest of you. See you all there

Here's the one problem I have. There is a shuttle launch scheduled for 5:38 p.m. on Thursday. We were hoping to sneak out at about 3:30 to head east and check it out. If they aren't announcing the random selections until 4.. we have a dilemma. Does this mean I'm not as devoted to pins as I thought I was? ;)

Ok I understood about the registration and all that...but as far as the map goes
will it be different everyday?? Or just a repeat???? Does anyone know???? And is all
this going on in the special millenium bldg back on the right side of the World Showcase
I know I sound confused but it is my first pin event and I dont want to blow it.

Cindy,

I *think* the scavenger hunt is the same every day--though I'm not 100% certain. There's a limited number of maps doled out each day.

there is going to be 12000 maps for the 4 days, 3000 will be given out each day. once the maps for that day are gone, thats it for day. but from the point of view of a person who has been in on the meetings and knows what going on, all i can say is you all are in for a TREAT!!!!!! thats for sure.

Do we have to complete the map on the same day we pick it up?

If we get a map on Thursday, can we slowly complete it through Friday and Saturday?

Any reason to hurry and finish ASAP?

I agree I like that the edition sizes are higher. Makes it more likely we can get most of the pins. I know it makes it easier on those of us trying to pick up for friends left at home.

EP - from what I read that sounds like you can do that. I know I have to get 2 sets of maps - but with 3 of us going should be no problem.

OK ? - Does anybody know the LE on the pin celebration logo pin? And is the Pooh pin only LE1000 ?

You should be able to be back at Epcot by about 7:30 or 8:00. You can pick up your assignment sheet and buy the pins any time up to the 9:00 park closing; you don't have to be there at the dot of 4:00.

ok this is what i know or what i can tell you anyway. there will be 12000 maps for the 4 days. there will be 3000 for each day, if they are all gone by that day there will be no more given out for that day. the pooh is a le of 1000, epcot dangle logo is 2500, all the others are 5000 and the logo spinner is 7500. you dont have to complete the maps in one day, but you can go each day and do a map if you want. the pins that will go on the map are all core pins, which means if they sell out, no big deal. they will be back in stock, dont panic. if anybody has any ?'s please feel free to email me and i will answer them for you if i can. ttfn and remember:

All the pin event plans sound wonderful and it sounds like Pinhook and his crew have been working hard to make sure everything will work out.

The large edition sizes are a great idea.

I look forward to getting up early and getting to the park early and going to the breakfast and meeting everyone.

Oh wait, I just remember, I can't come. Nevermind.
