With the announcement from Jim Lewis that they are planning on rolling out some type of loyalty program/benefits, I was just wandering if anyone has a guess to the percentage of DVC owners that own any breakdown of total points? For example: 1,500 pts and above, 1,000-1,500 pts, 750-1,000 pts, 500-750 pts, 300-500 pts, 200-300 pts 150-200 pts 100-150 pts, less than 100 pts. There are probably better breakdowns, but you get the point. What percentage of owners own any given breakdown of points. Anyone want to vernture a guess, or is there someone that has that type of data available?

I'm sure we are all wondering the same thing, but it doesn't sound like they gave any clue to what that might be yet. My guess is they don't have a clue yet...they just haven't figured out who to torture more.:rotfl:

Actually they are waiting for one of us to start a thread dedicated to this particular discussion, so we can figure it out, complain about it, change it and then they will decide.

We need a poll, :lmao:

I am not a big fan of DVC setting up a class system. There are only so many perks they can give, if they increase some others will suffer.

I agree whole heartedly. There already is a perk for having large numbers of points - the ability to use them and vacation more.

I hope it's a very small perk like maybe an additional annual pass discount or something, not anything tied to reservation window or anything.

Ditto on resale restrictions. Just because I bought direct doesn't mean my points are any better than someone that bought resale.

I concur, I don't get a loyalty program at all. At least not for # of points purchased. I guess maybe if they get additional discounts and such so be it, but certainly I hope there aren't advanced booking opportunities and such. It's a timeshare, we all own and should have access to it.

Time will tell.

Was there a big discussion on these boards a while ago, like a year ago or so, about this idea? The idea of a "class" system, where more points mean more benefits? I vaguely remember some discussion of this in the past.

Yes it has been discussed.

Sure, how do you think DVC came up with the idea? They seem to get a lot of ideas from this board.

Also with the new emphasis by management to be just another time share the idea of a tiered system it not new to the business.

But it's just another item they makes them more like the others and less about being unique.

If they are going to act like everyone else they really need to redo their website.

What sets Disney Vacation Club apart from other vacation ownership programs? We call it the Disney Difference. It's the heritage, tradition and values that began with Walt himself, carried forth to the present.

I know! The reward for owning more points should be a discount on points so you can buy even more! :lmao:
