Just Curious - King possibility?

Please don't shoot daggers at me for asking. I am just curious.

What are the odds that DH and I might be given a king room even if I don't specifically mention it or book it. We are going in July and to me it seems like most people going at that time are families so they need or want the rooms with double the amount of beds.

We don't mind having 2 beds in our room, and we don't necessarily mind paying for a king room. I don't think we are "entitled" or should get an upgrade. I am just curious.

Like I said I am just curious... please don't hate me!

Minimal. You did not indicate which resort.

Values is a request. Mods is a booking category. Deluxes depends what villa you book.

People make requests at time of ressies.

No matter how you phrase, you asking if you will be "upgraded" at check-in to something someone has already paid for. Do not expect it and do not let it ruin your vacation.

Thanks. I was just curious. I highly doubted it. Like I said we don't particularly care, so my curiosity got the best of me and I thought I'd ask just to see what others had to say.

I have never and will never go on a vacation ANYWHERE expecting to be upgraded. It definitely won't ruin our vacation - but I do hear of other people getting upgraded so I was just curious if it had happened to anyone.

I could probably sleep in my car at Disney and be quite happy. :rotfl

It isn't a priority at all - I am just a curious person.

Sometimes, OP, I think you are right on. Our last stay at WDW we were asked at check in if we would be able to take a room with a king bed and a "sofa bed," probably because there were lots of families who needed the two queens. We said yes and my parents took the king bed while I slept on the "sofa bed." Unfortunately, the "sofa bed" was in fact a bench with some cushions on it, lol. Not terribly uncomfortable, but definitely too short for me!

It is almost always just DH and I that go on our trips (we don't have children). Before we bought DVC we had stayed on property at least 15 times and 1 time got a king bed. We never asked or booked them. So I would say the chances may not be very high- there are actually a lot of people with just 2 in their rooms and not too many rooms have king beds. It was at the Wilderness Lodge we were given a king bed and we did not know until we arrived in the room.

I booked close to my travel date using the AP rate and the only discount that was available at POR was a River View. I've booked this and added a King Bed request to my reservation. We'll see what happens on my March 3 arrival...:wizard:

I have received a king bed three times (not counting when I stay in one bedroom villas, which are automatically king), and never booked one specifically. Once was when we booked connecting rooms at POR, and we got one king room and one room with two doubles. The other two were at CR - one was an upgrade to a suite with a king, a daybed and a Murphy bed, and the other was a king bed/daybed combo, both in the wing.

We got a king a couple of times at All-Stars Music when we had connecting rooms; doubles in one and king in the other.
