I am just curious about the layout of AKL. If the lodge is all one unit doesn't sound travel throughout the whole building?
I am trying to figure out why people in lower priced rooms need to be moved but those in higher priced rooms are,in some cases, being allowed to stay. Are the higher priced rooms made up of better material or something?

I don't think it is a function of the price at all. Rather it is just what area of the lodge is currently being converted.

The old concierge rooms are now closed to regular AKL reservations from what I understand from reading the boards. Some of those rooms on the 5th floor (Zebra Trail I think) are now opening as villas. The rooms directly under those rooms are most likely the rooms which will be used for standard concierge rooms in the next few months.

The conversion of the old 6th floor concierge rooms as well as the parking lot category rooms (sorry don't know the AKL term) is happening sooner than anticipated hence the need to move those guests.

I was just there last week. We were on the giraffe trail and heard no noise while in our room. In the lobby or outside by the pool you could here it a little, but it didn't affect us, however, we are from NJ, so we are used to noise/construction. The 5th and 6th floors were blocked off in the lobby area and toward the left side of the building, as far as I could tell. From what I've read of others, it seems like they are trying to get anyone to move just to decrease the chance of having to move upon arrival. From what I can tell, it has nothing to do with price, in most situation it looks like they are getting the short end of the stick when moving people to the Poly and GF.

I was nervous about my stay and contacted my TA who was told our reservation was not affected. And I was pretty bent on staying there b/c it was my 1st time at a deluxe resort and i just love the theme. However, if they were to have contacted me and bascially said it would be better to move, I probably would. You really can't go wrong with a Disney deluxe resort.
