Hi,

Has anyone played on board, is it fun, and what are the prizes like?

Thanks!
Renee

Lots of people play on board, it's lots of fun although from what i gather the callers aren't the most enthusiastic, prizes range from diamond tennis bracelets, spa treatments, $5000 and lots of in between cash and gift prizes. Bingo gets busy on at sea days, kids can play but need to be with an adult to collect any prizes.
Have fun and good luck

We've played on the 3 night Wonder cruises and won a few times. Between $50 and $100 cash. There are larger prizes for the last coverall and stuff. We had a fun time. If you have time, go do it. My daughter played with us also. When she got bingo, we had to collect it for her.

It's addictive!

On the Magic our crew was very enthusiastic! You have a better chance during the week to win 'cause everybody seems to show up for the Jackpot Bingo!

Have Fun!

It is fun but I think it is grossly overpriced.
We played a few times the last time onboard but you can't split the sheets up to share amongst family members unless they sit side by side and for the price I think it isn't a good deal.
We enjoy it but it would be better if they lowered the price. They'd get more folks there in the week and you'd go more.
14 days on the ship!!!! Bingo could break me.

Cheers,
Grumbo

If I may ask.... Can you define expensive? How much is a game? Are you required to play the entire session or may you come and go as you please?

If I remember correctly it was $35.00 for a sheet of six. There are six boxes on each sheet and I think 5 or 6 games per round. As mentioned above you can not break the sheets apart (they are perforated) and you punch out the little circles in the numbers. You can also buy smaller strips, but I don't recall what those cost. When we went it seemed everyone from NJ was winning. So be from NJ and you may have luck.

Just returned from the 5/29 Eastern Magic sailing. Played Bingo several times -- it's a blast and gets more crowded and enthusiastic as the week goes on. By the last day for Bingo, the jackpot for the cover all game was over $6,700 and the Walt Disney Theatre was packed for Bingo. (Two people split the pot)

They play five games, with the last being the cover all game (you need to get every number on your card). The prize money increases with each of the five games. It costs $20 for a sheet of three -- that is, you get three "cards" for each of the five games. It costs $35 for a sheet of six, meaning you get six cards for each of the five games. You can also buy a sheet of six for just the cover all game -- that costs $15.

My DD and I had a blast playing. I spent about $120 during the 7 days. She won the door prize (which had a lot of souvenirs from St. Maartaan) and we had fun.

My only complaint is that it is held in the small lounge and they allow smoking. I have a hard time breathing (asthma) and that became uncomfortable.

PLEASE don't let this start up the smoking/anti-smoking thread again, I'm just mentioning that fact so that anyone interested in playing will be prepared.

BINGO was a real highlight to my last disney cruise. I cant wait to go back. I am saving up!

Someone asked did they use chips or markers. They use sheets that have preforated edges and you fold over the number that is called.

I LOVE Bingo and had to play on the cruise much to my husband's dismay!

We ended up winning over $100 and a prize for our day on Castaway Cay. And guess who was the more enthusiastic person to yell BINGO!!!! I thought it was SO much fun and I do agree the cards are a bit pricey, but who cares you're on vacation right?????!!!!!

You don't need chips or markers - they have this system where you just fold the number down if the one called is on your card. Our callers were VERY enthusiastic on our cruise. We did go back for the jackpot one - it was crowded and we didn't win anything - but still had fun. The person who won was a sole winner - $2500. We were on the 4-night-May 17-May 20. I would say play if it's your thing!!

We find the Bingo VERY expensive and not really worth the money. The games are long and drawn out (mainly because people dont LISTEN to the instructions!). A family of 4 playing would cost approx $130, and the chances of winning are small. There is only one prize per game,(5 games in all I believe) and NO FULL HOUSES. Total playing time is about 15 mins, and the rest of the hour is taken up with repeating numbers/adlibs/explanations etc.Guess Bingo is the biggest money earner for Disney on board. Yes, it is vacation time and we all like to treat ourselves, but I think the Bingo needs a serious "overhaul" and have told Disney so. It could be SO MUCH BETTER! Nat:Pinkbounc

We played almost every game on our 5/22/04 cruise. The bingo team (Andrea, Chip and Dimitri) was hysterical. We won several times. My husband won twice ($240), my son won twice ($239) and I won once ($214). I also won a DVC raffle prize which consisted of a mouse pad and a really large nice bag. Be sure to volunteer to verify the spheres (in Andrea's words) are all there before the games start and you'll get a little prize for that. I got a DCL mug, a keychain , a DCL pin and some color-changing rings(kiddy). We also received prizes one morning for coming in our pajamas. It was a slumber party bingo. We really had a great time!!

Congratulations on your wins!!! I never found my way there on that 4-day cruise but maybe next time....

We played bingo every day during our October cruise. It was a lot of fun, but we did spend a lot of money. Our friend won a small amount and I was one number away from the $5700 jackpot on the last night. This trip we plan to play once or twice and spend the money elsewhere. :flower1:

I love to play bingo on cruises. What is the average jackpot for a 3 night cruise? I went on a 7 night celebrity cruise in March and split the 3000 jackpot. THAT was amazing!
