Hey,

I just closed on my initial contract yesterday and today I got a notice/invoice of when my first payment of dues is due. Of course that will be at the start of the month (Nov 1) but what really got me was that they prorated the dues to 125 days.

Not being a genious, I question this amount because, if you count backward, this would mean I closed on Aug 28th? The notice did mention that the deed was recorded on Oct 1, but, that is still a 24 day difference.

My use year is June so this prorating doesn't work out to that number either....

Anyone have a simular experience and called MS on it? What was there explanation? I am going to call tomorrow either way but I would like to hear about it. I just can't figure this one out....

I believe you pay dues from your contract date.

The day you call them and say "I want pts, draw up the paperwork".

What day did you initiate the purchase process?

Hope this helps.

Dues start on the day you make the deposit. You can also make a reservation that day (if you buy direct from DVC), so it seems fair. You became a member that day, not the day you closed.

Welcome Home! :D

Where did you buy? We were told our dues at SSR wouldn't start until June of next year.

yes, i agree with DebbieB, the day you sign on the line and give your deposit you become a dvc member, and yes i have heard you can start making your ressies right away. :sunny:
