Just checked in to BLT

So just got here for my first time. Love the location and the and my wife and daughter love he modern look. That stuff does not effect me too much so I take there word for it. Now down to the nitty gritty the texting room ready thing worked great we got the good to go around 12:30. We are in a studio and it's a tad smaller then the other ones I have been in BWV and AKV so that should be interesting for a whole week. The safe is broken and one person was here to fix it but they needed another so we shall see if it get fixed. Also was surprised when I called for an extra soap they wanted 5 dollars. I mean I get it but I don't the 120 a month on fees I pay should get me as much soap as I want. So just a little update from BLT

Glad you are enjoying it- the fees you pay cover the original soap in the unit as well as new soap on your housekeeping days- to keep costs down you have to pay for additional soap between times- if there is only 1 kind of soap you need you may find a larger bottle for just a little more than the $5 in the gift shop on the fourth floor of the main building. An extra toiletries packet is $5 according to the website.

We always bring a bar of soap for each shower/tub to avoid additional charges. How did you Know that you would need more soap upon check in?

Each bathroom should be supplied with the smaller "face" soap and a larger bath soap. There shouldn't be a need to bring to supply each bathroom with soap unless you want additional.

So a few more things the wear on this room is pretty good especially in the bathroom. Tp dispenser is hanging by a thread looks like someone knocked into the shower handle is all lose and is real close to being broken. The bed is a bit iffy seems like it's seen some miles. Not sure I am being extra critical since I saw some posts about this place lately and I am keeping an eye out more closely. Oh and the wifi is god awful like 65k afwul.

We are also at BLT- in a 1BR. The unit is immaculate, everything in working order, and no maintenance issues that I can see. The satellite signal is down this morning, but other than morning news and weather, we don't use it. DH went to AK to see the Tigers first thing this morning so I have had a nice leisurely morning...sigh.

Be sure to let maintenance know about these problems!

We usually bring our own shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The soap is only for hand washing and it is more than enough for that.

I'm with Kat4Disney. There has always been a soap bar for each sink and tub/shower. Then there is the tiny bottle of shower gel in addition. Not sure how one would need an extra bar of soap at c/i unless one of the soap bars was missing? And as said, you will get more on your T & T day. Hope your vacation is great in spite of the $5 soap!

Except that's not what you agree to when you are a member and stay on points. You agree to the 2 bars plus shampoo, conditioner, and wash gel (or whatever it is) and replacement during T&T. Unless something was missing, they shouldn't "give you a bar of soap, after all that money." If you don't get it, perhaps DVC isn't for you. Does it happen occasionally that you get a bit more/extra, yes, but should you expect it...NO.

For what it's worth, we are staying at the BLT as pay by the night hotel guests, reserved through Disney. And they treat it exactly like a hotel -- room service every day, free refreshes of all soaps, shampoos, laundry detergent, etc.
