Just changed our ressies to a VERANDAH cabin!!

I'm so excited! Since last week my DH and I have been kicking around the idea of upgrading from our oceanview cabin to a verandah cabin, and today I made the call and upgraded us!!

This cruise is still a surprise to our DSs, but even once we tell them about the cruise, we're going to keep the part about it being a verandah cabin a secret

My elderly parents have been dealing with some very serious health issues this past week (my mother has advanced-stage Alzheimer's and is now losing the ability to swallow food), so this little bright spot of us changing to a varandah is great for taking my mind off these other issues.

Good for you. Having the veradah is wonderful.My dds love to bring their binoculars and look for animals in the sea or far away boats. Have a great cruise.

Last Nov 30th we had a SPR booked and plans got "changed" on us.
When we had to rebook DH & I went directly to the verandah room. We feel we earned it

Thanks for the nice replies, everyone We're in cabin 6042 which looks like a great location, almost halfway between the forward and midship elevators.

Now I have a question. According to the DCL brochure, the cat 9 cabins are 214 sq. ft. and the cat 6 is 268 sq. ft. Is the additional footage ALL due to the verandah or is the cabin itself any larger?? Just wondering! Thanks

Congratulations on treating yourself to a veranda - I love them!

The rooms are the same size - the extra square footage is from the veranda. Hope you make good use of it. I love being out there early in the morning (I get up earlier than DH and would often go out and read) as well as late at night.

Once you go verandah, you'll never go back!!! There's nothing like having room service deliver coffee in the morning and enjoying the coffee on the verandah.

yes the extra SF is the veranda but it is like an extra room. DH and I spend so much quiet time out there ourselfs while DS chills out before bed watching a movie.. you will LOVE it!
