Just changed from OKW to SSR

So far I've never walked into an OKW room with a huge noticeable stain right in the middle of the carpet like I did at SSR.

Good for you...because I have!! And you know what? It didn't bother me.

I think its the luck of the draw. Who stayed in the room before you, how well housekeeping did their job preparing the room, etc. The studios at OKW aren't much bigger, but they do have two real beds. The sofa pull out at SSR is comfortable though. The 1BR's at OKW are huge compared to a SSR 1BR. I'm glad you like SSR that much. You will have a great time! When I stayed there, there was a problem with availability at OKW, so I kind of got stuck with SSR. And the whole trip I missed the open airy sunny rooms at OKW. But I just made up my mind not to let it spoil our vacation. And I bet you missed SSR when you were at OKW. I am glad SSR is there mostly because I believe we will never have a problem with availability.

EVERY DVC resort has some rooms that need maintenance from time to time, some folks enjoy trashing a resort room, or just don't care. We've gotten OKW rooms where obviously pretty new carpet was pulled and stained, and someones child was allowed to express their artistic talent on the walls and doors with magic marker. With the resorts operating at near cpacity, there isn't always another unit available. The unit had been cleaned by mousekeeping and was OK, except for the obvious abuse. Blame your fellow members, renters and cash CRO guests for that abuse, not DVC or a particular resort. I also witness, while standing on a balcony at OKW, the people in the unit next to us, a child AND the grandma jumping on the couch giggling...some people

Your right, I would not want to be at the front desk waiting on my room while they replaced the carpet, if someone spills wine it may be there a while. It happens, and I can live that. Wont ruin my vacation. And not DVC fault.

You're right. Of course it happens. And just as SSR folks don't appreciate the "bashing", OKW folks don't like people (OP) saying their resort is not clean. Savvy? If you can't take it, don't dish it out. People in glass houses should not throw stones. People - can't we all just get along? All the resorts are wonderful and we each have our favorites for different reasons. Ms. WDW, you certainly did open a can of worms on this thread!
