Just can't decide...

Thank-you for looking into things for me so far everyone, much appreciated :good vibes

It's all helping and I've been mentioning to my family about us definitely looking into what Disney has on their offers in April/May too. As you say Torsie, we may be better staying at another resort with dining plan if it does work out that way. I'll have to see...AoA has grabbed me though and I'm not sure I can not go there now :rotfl: Quite annoying!

I've not had chance to contact Val yet, but I will do Joolz, thanks again for putting me in touch. I'll try drop her an email ASAP and see what she comes back with. I've not even looked into TCD this time, so there's another place to check I'd imagine!

I know the feeling........

If we do stay at SSR every time I see the Floridian or AKL/and AKL bus I know I'll get a little pang.

You can still visit for a meal and a look around any resort though.

We once booked 14 nights at OKW with ddp then booked night 15 in a little mermaid room at A of A as a surprise for DD. That worked well.

Personally and hold fire and see what deals are released.

Thanks :) It looks like that's what we'll be doing. Holidays will all be confirmed in work for us all over the next week or so, so we're going to hang on and see what Disney deals come out :thumbsup2

We're getting close to looking at booking our trip for next May 2015.

We're travelling as a party of 5, this being 4 adults and one child, who'll be 3. We've been to the travel agents this weekend and been given a price of £11,000! This covers us for everything we want, which is below....

16 nights, Disney's Art of Animation. Virgin direct flights (good times), the 'One Pass', which covers us for 14 consecutive days at all parks, including water parks. Car hire (7 seater Dodge) with a tank of fuel & gold insurance (inc car seat) and we have our own holiday insurance.

But, what does everyone think? Should I attempt this DIY? Would I save by doing this? I've never done DIY before and I actually wouldn't know where to begin, especially when looking for flights (which seem to be so hit & miss)...

Any advice for me?! All other times we've been it's been through a travel agents and of course all that just falls into place.

I've also looked at Complete Orlando, who don't yet have their flight prices out for next May, so I used this years as a guide and it's still coming in at £10,800 (and with that I don't even know if car insurance is included or not)

Help!? Where would my starting point be for DIY?!

Well, doing the lazy way I book holidays..... Just did a dummy booking on Virgin Holidays...4 adults 1 child, 2 rooms at AOA, 7 seater car, platinum insurance but no disney park tickets = £8,207.88

OP - that seems extraordinarily high to me.

I have no experience going in May, but for me that's crazy prices.

April will see the deals from WDTC come out so I would wait for that before you make any decisions. If you are certain that only AoA is an option accommodation wise, then you're probably going to be paying a premium though.

Free dining (if it is offered) will probably be the same as previous years (QSDP for Moderate or DDP for Deluxe) meaning you won't get free dining for AoA. I would seriously consider whether or not you can live with a different resort to save money and get more for the money you do spend.

For the last 2 years we have done BA Fly Drive during their sale. It has worked out well for us both times. This year flights and car (with all insurances) came out at £1777 for 3 of us.

If you go the DIY route, I'm certain you can get it significantly cheaper than the quote you've had. Even if you just booked hotel & tickets (and free dining if you choose a different hotel) with WDTC and Fly Drive with Universal tickets with BA without too much "shopping around" I still think it'll come out cheaper.

It's the two rooms that's making it so expensive. I'd wait and see if the 30% off and free dining at Old Key West and Saratoga Springs come out in April before you book. Even two rooms at a moderate with free quick service dining would be likely to be a better deal if you can stand 14 days fast food. How much of that price was for flights?

That wasn't two rooms, it was one of the Cars suites, so we were all in one.

Flights in that were coming out around £3,600 for us direct with Virgin to Orlando International.

Going to sit tight for a couple of weeks and see what the offers bring :thumbsup2

Hi there. That's a hefty price for flights. I'd hold out. I always fly Virgin even though it's probably the most expensive because I like it, but I got PE flights for less than that for May this year. I booked them in February. Good luck :)

Wow, that's good!

I just get nervous with flight booking! I wondered a) if there'll be any availability and b) will the prices not just keep going up and up?!

It's the TA that's spooked me because she said they normally release flights in blocks of 10 seats at a time and then the more it fills up from front to back, the higher the prices go!! How true this is I don't know?!
