I just cancelled all our rooms for Oct 12 to 22, 2021. No one in my family wants to go right now and I don't blame them.
Studio at SSR, Standard studio at BWV and a GRAND VILLA at BWV from Oct 16 to 22.
Hope someone get it. I was going to rent but I don't want to deal with renters if Disney has issues in OCT so I cancelled.

I cancelled all but 4 days of my 12 day October BLT studio reservation on Monday for the same reason. I would have cancelled all of it, but those 4 days were exactly the number of banked points I have to use by December. I figured it would be very unlikely that I'd be able to make a reservation later in the year, so I kept the 4 days in October. My wife says she has someone who wants to rent that reservation.

We have a reservation starting Thanksgiving weekend. If we cancel we need to bank our points by the end of the month. It is really hard to know what to do.

Everyone needs to make their own decision on what to do. No shame in whatever you decide - it’ll still be there in 2-4-6 or however long months from now. i am going that weekend and it looks pretty tight… I’ll keep an eye out if there are any cancellations to see if I can add a day

Given the new mandates put back into place, I foresee a lot of availability coming online...

Was speaking to a bunch of other people who aren’t happy about this news either (walking back from Epcot as the news dropped). One family in particular was going to be here until the 8th of August. But they are looking for flights back on Friday now. Another family who joined in on the conversation said that they canceled their park reservations for MK and HS and that a lot of availability just opened up after the news dropped. Can’t confirm that though. But yes, I foresee a lot of availability coming up…..

We have reservations again in October and will cancel if this requirement continues until then.

Definitely going to cancel now. I would have held on for a bit to see how it shakes out but with my banking deadline coming up I don't have a choice. Back to you shouldn't travel late in your UY. :)

I am sorry you have to make this choice now. I am sure it’s disappointing.

No change for us. We were there March, May and June and only June we had maskfree outside, but masks in lines and inside. So we never got to enjoy being maskless. So our September and November trips are unaffected. Heck, we’re even doing a cruise the end of august, with masks.

New member to the board but a 10-year DVC owner. We have been over the last week or two thinking about canceling our trip. We have celebrated our 10th and 15th wedding anniversary at WDW and the plan is to have our 20th there the end of Sept. That also falls so that we would be there for 10/1. (We were there for the 40th and 45th as well).

If we cancel the points are going down the drain. Our bank window closes tomorrow but we have banked all the points we can so that really does not matter since we canceled last year's trip that we planned. Not really sure what to do right now. But we have to do something soon that is for sure.

We are supposed to be there the 18-25th and are strongly considering cancelling. Not because they re-imposed the mask requirement, but because it was needed. I have an autoimmune disease, and if conditions are that bad it's just not safe for me to go. Like you my banking deadline is tomorrow, and this trip was a do-over for our many-cancelled 25th wedding anniversary. It's a tough call.

Sorry to hear that and yes, our choice has nothing to do with the re-instating of the mask mandate. My wife has medical issues and her mom is a high-risk for COVID. We are all vaccinated here so that helps. But it is a very hard call. We are thinking about calling MS and maybe a little pixie dust. We are thinking of if there was some availability of going to Hilton Head. I know still people but not 50th anniversary WDW crowds. Lots to think over and not much time to do it.

Have the exact same dates as you and am also not sure what to do. Have been following the 'Here Now and Just Back' thread very closely and my biggest concerns are the insane crowds and long lines people are reporting. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like Disney will implement anything to help with either of those things before October 1st (extended hours, maybe a paid fastpass), so with the added restrictions and general uncertainty I don't know what to do!

Luckily I have a few more weeks to see how things play out a bit, before the 30 day mark, but (like most people) I haven't been able to go in 2 years and this trip has been the only thing I've been able to look forward to. I will be devastated to cancel :(
