Just cancelled RP for 3/26

We had RP booked for 1 night 3/26 for $274 plus tax. Decided that even though we will miss front of the line access, we got 2 nights at the JW Marriott for a cheaper price thru priceline. We have been to Universal 2 previous times within the year staying onsite both times. We never paid anything close to this amount for a standard room. The reservationist asked me why we were cancelling and I told her the room rate was too high!!! Please bring back the discounts Universal!!!

Spring break is still happening for Broward students.

You'll need to arrive to the parking garage early that Saturday at 8am and be first to the gate. The parks will probably open early at 08:30am. If you are there at that time, you can do all of Marvel Island before 9am, then head back to Dueling Dragons and get your front seat rides on it, then continue your lap.
Or you head to USF and do Shrek, Mummy, and MIB first.

$274 is $200/night cheaper than Polynesian. Sounds pretty good when you look at it that way. And at the Poly you don't get FOTL.

March 27 is Easter. It is unlikely that there would be discounted rates for this very busy time. Universal does still have discounted rates, they just aren't as available at busy times since the hotels fill up without it.

I'm sure you will have fun anyway!

Thanks for the advice. Its just me and my husband so we don't go on a lot of those popular rides anyway. We stayed the Saturday before Easter last year and paid $149 for the RP. The year before, $109. Just couldn't see us spending that for 1 night. Maybe next year!!

It was not as crowded as I thought it would be. Mummy, schreck and men in black were the biggest lines (even with front of the line access). Last year there wasn't a mardi gras parade the night we went and I noticed there is for 3/26 so that might make the park more congested. Lets put it this way, we went at Thanksgiving last year and I thought the park was more crowded then Easter week of last year! Go figure!!! Have fun.

I don't think you should worry at all. You will have an absolute ball. FOTL will save you and you will never want to do the parks again without it!

I believe we waited about 25 minutes for schreck. I think its because of the length of the wait and then the movie. People in the regular line easily waited over 3 hrs. Men in black was about 20 minutes. Not that these are long waits, but other attractions we walked right on. Have fun!!
