Just cancelled All 2007 FW Trips

I just cancelled all 9 planed trips to FW. After talking to Cheryl and some people I know that work for WDW I think our last trip is starting to be the norm. Disney is starting to get this O well attitude and I’m not going to pay $90 a night to be treated poorly. So there are 9 new reservations just waiting for you.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I think it would take more than that to deter me though. Especially since you got what you wanted in the end. We don't know why things are done the way they are. Even when we see things right in front of our faces that we think are the answer, we don't know what crazy rules they are told to follow.

Hopefully you won't stop going to Disney. Even when it is bad, it is still better than the real world.

My wife and I just read that thread. What a bummer way to start the vacation but "cancel all future trips?". Little extreme to me.

Sorry you feel that you had to cancel all your ressies.

We went to FW last weekend and had a great time. Will be back to FW in a couple of weeks and expect to have a great time.

In May we go to FW for a few days before our family get together DCL Cruise and then back to FW after the cruise.

Will then skip the hot summer months and start all over again in Sept. for DW's Birthday.

We have had some so-so times at FW, stuff happens, but not bad enough to make us not want to go back as you can see.

Dis I can see your reasons to be upset. The fort has taken more away than it's been giving for a while now. The prices have gone way up too. Unfortunately when somebody has a product that people use a lot then they can call the shots. Usually Disney kisses butt and tries to make everything great. If I see more taken away I too may stay at other locations. We'll just have to see what happens.

I will stay at FW again but 9 of those trips will not be there. I'm think tropical palms. If I keep doing the samething and expect a change that is crazy.

I like Tropic Palms as well but last time I was there they placed a ton of those cottages in place of campsites. It seems to be more a vacation cottage sale/lot rental resort now than a campground resort and does not have the same feel about it but still fairly nice.

We have stayed twice per year for several years in cabins and havent been disappointed yet. We have had issues with stuff like a leaky dishwasher or the tv didnt work etc but they always come right out and fix it. No trouble at check in either. I always ask to get near the front of a loop and I always get it. Ohter than that I'm not too picky though.

Things aren't that bad! Treated poorly? Disney doesn't care. Come on.
Sometimes stuff happens. Check in isn't until 1pm. They don't guarantee you can get in before. Someone has to have an older golf cart. Didn't they get you one that worked? Not everyone can have a brand new one.
I hardly think that is reason to cancel all your trips. I bet you will be disappointed not being at FW.
JMHO! If not then I guess there will be more room for the rest of us.

I don't know about that....We had 526 ( a new cart) and my son-in-law had 408 ( an older cart). His ran circles around ours. And it was definitely fully charged.

I read the other thread with your bad experiences , but I am curious about what the CMs told you that convinced you this sort of trouble should be expected as the 'norm'?

Also someone mentioned that he has only been here since December and has posted nothing but negative stuff in this forum, this guy might just be trolling for responses.

Sounds a bit extreme to me, plus I don't think anything they could do would please you, sorry to hear you cancelled your ressies, but that means 9 other people just got theirs, wooho!! Sounds like you took a very negative outlook on the entire trip, and then wondered why your trip turned out so negative.

I've been going to FW for 31 years now, and have yet to have that bad of an experience. Not everytime was everything absolutely great, but I'm also not looking to be hand fed my enjoyment. Sorry it hasn't been the same for you Perhaps instead of posting multiple messages about how bad Fort Wilderness is, you should just move on and stay somewhere else. Fort Wilderness is packed enough as it is without negativity, some people that love the place really need the spots!

I have read a few of his/hers other threads over the past months and I don't think just because they tell of a bad experience they had and being burnt out this time makes them a troll. This is an open fourm where alot of topics should be discussed bad and good, I think they have two different threads that go hand and hand and I for one was glad for the heads up, now I know not to expect a site soon as we roll up and thank goodness we have our own golf cart...hehe

come on dude ~ there's no need to rush and cancel everything. Try one trip again to see how it goes.
