Just came back from a wake

My daughter's 31 yo teacher died on 12/29/07. He leaves behind his parents, brother, wife and two young children.
He died of cancer, he had been fighting it for 6 years. I guess I just don't understand why.
I have been to many wakes, but this was just so sad. He was a wonderful person with a great spirt.
He has been a part of our lives for only four years, yet he has touched our family for a lifetime.

It is so sad when someone young is taken by this dread disease. It is hard when it is someone older as well, but when it is someone with their whole life ahead of them I have trouble understanding too. I wish they would find a cure as the way they deal with it now is as hard as having the disease itself.
