It's a children's novel set in the Magic Kingdom, where 5 teens are trapped inside at night..."pitted against Disney villians and witches that threaten both the future of [WDW] and the stability of the world outside its walls."

Looks good, can't wait to read it! We have thrill seeking kids, who love every thrill ride at every park. They also love watching thriller/zombie movies with Daddy (his idea not mine lol!). Think this book would be okay for them? I was thinking we could read a little each day before we go.

ha funny you should pick this up. i just posted a thread about it a day or so ago. Its an amazing book! i loved reading every chapter. its so good that i couldnt put it down. I know you can pick it up on amazon and in the MK but im not sure about barne and nobles...but im not sure. great book! deffianlty will make you look at the rides differently though...have fun

My nephew (12) just read this book TWICE! He hardly reads anything ONCE! I now have it on my nighttable to start reading next!
Enjoy

It is a good book and I got my copy at Barnes and Noble.

My kids loved it, I can't wait to read. My high school son enjoyed it so much he bought a copy for his language arts teacher who is young and loves to read different kind of stories.

I got mine in Chapters (Canada). We don't have it at our local library. I'm planning on getting Peter and the Star Catchers at the library and then read Barrie's original Peter Pan.
I told my family tonight I bought them a treat. "For all of us?" my youngest said. I said "yep a family treat!" So I told them it was a book and of course they were intrigued but highly suspicious. Then I started to read the inside sleeve to everyone and when I got to Disney villians they were hooked. My DD7 started reading it right away out loud and then my DH took a turn. We are already on chapter 2. Looks like it'll be a night time ritual for a few days/weeks until we get it finished (hopefully before our trip). Of course my DD7 thought the "It's a Small World" children hitting the boat, as written on the back of the book, were zombies. Read OP to see why, lol!

I'm reading this book right now. I got it at the library for my 11 year old son and I to read together. Well, he is still finishing another book, but I couldn't wait, so I started it thinking I would just read a little to see what it was like. Needless to say, I'm almost finished with it!

Ok I have to ask...how many pages in the book?? My son's school gives him credit for every book he reads over 150 pages (25 book club) so if it is not over 150 pages the book will have to wait until the summer.

Kingdom Keepers is a great book. I believe it's close to 300+. You will be happy to know that this is supposed to be a trilogy and made into a tv series on the Disney Chanel. That will be amazing. Oh after you read Kingdom Hearts, get Peter and the Starcatchers. It's written by the same author. It's the prequel to Peter Pan. The 2nd book in the Peter series comes out in July and Peter and Starcatchers is supposed to be a full lenght CGI movie.

Is the book in hardback or paperback? I know its out in hardback in UK but wondered whether to wait for paperback version.

OK I bought the book, I read the book, I really enjoyed it BUT did anyone else think it felt really rushed at the end? Almost like he wanted to get it finished so he could go out to play? :lmao: I know hes left the door open for sequels but there was still so much to resolve with only about 12 pages to go, I felt a bit cheated with how quickly the story was wound up. I'll still be lending it to my DNephs though (And taking a baseball bat on IASW in future :lmao: )

We rented the audio taped version of this book at Cracker Barrel and listened to it at home with our 8 year old DD. Cracker Barrel has a rental program where you can rent audio tapes and return them at any of their restaurants. You pay for the tapes and they reimburse you (minus a small rental fee) when you return them. We enjoyed the book and I think it would be a fun thing to do on a long drive to WDW.

I guess I'm the lone voice in the wilderness who did not like the book - I had high hopes but thought it was pretty bad.
