Just bought SSR ?s re: $95.00 per point

We just bought at SSR on Friday (175 points for $95.00 per point). Our guide gave us lots of incentives (closing costs paid, discount, interest free until July, Sept. 1st payment, plus a few other things I can't remember right now). My question is regarding the point price of $95.00 - was SSR always this price? I just read a post a few pages back about the increase happening on Sunday and it was asking who was going to increase their points before the increase. That got me thinking that since we bought 2 days prior to that, why were charged $95.00 per point? Did we pay too much? Disney never advertises the point costs, and so we didn't find out until we got to the presenation - I have never frequented this DVC board before because we weren't planning on joining until a few years down the road, and so I didn't know the costs of SSR until I was there on Friday.

If someone could shed some light on this, that would be great.

Hi Tiger,

Congratulations, I just bought SSR too! The price for new members went up April 1. It was held at the old price until May for current members looking to add points.

The price increase took place a couple weeks ago for non DVC members. Current DVC members had until the 9th to purchase at the 89 dollars a point. Susan
