We got some at Brookstone's and they were OK, but I think you'll find that the water bottle/misters will keep you cooler. They were a bit heavy, and towards the end of the three day trip, the gel started leaking out. The ones from Brookstone's were more expensive and had more gel than the Walmart ones, I think. Give them a try and see what you think. I ended up throwing ours away after the trip, since they didn't hold up.

I have one that I bought at WDW and use during hot days. I love it and yes it does work. But you need to presoak it (I usually put it in a hotel cup with water the night before). Once it is presoak, you can recharge it by just running it under a water faucet. I highly recommend it.

I have had such a hard time finding these things you wouln't beleive. Being Canadian I guess many stores don't feel it gets warm enough to stock these in stores.

Finally found them...last December in the middle of a frezzing cold winter too. I still bought 2 ( not cheap 10.00 can.) I have seen them after at my AAA office for 19.95 can!!!! Wow wish I had bargains like you guys!

I am not putting my hopes up as to their effectiveness...I figure they can only do so much.

I work at Wal-Mart in the sporting goods dept. The ones we carry are called Aqua Cool and they are hanging on what we call a sidekick. They will be hanging on a metal rack on the side of a endcap display at the end of an aisle
We have them on the end of the camping aisle. They are $2.88

You can also make them. I think I saw this on the Budget board. Go to a craft store such as Michaels and they have silica gel crystals that you can use for plants. Just buy some of those, take the fabric of your choice and sew it into a roll of the length of your choosing. You can sew partitions so the crystals don't all bunch up. Voila!
