Just did a tower studio at RR for a week last week. I was there solo. The room IS tiny....but well-laid out....there's a built-in desk I used to do my "paid work" and there were enough drawers for putting away my clothing, but had to use the two drawers on each side of the bed. Not a big deal, but different from "regular" studios where you get more than 2 drawers in one place. Also, the bathroom is very nice, but there's no tub, if that matters to you....it's only a walk-in shower. And, the closet is right next to the shower so if you leave the closet door open the things in the closet can get damp from shower steam....one very nice touch is the "real" dishware and flatware, not the plastic stuff that's in other studios. There's no bedside table, but the couch arm served as a place for me to set my phone (the night I had to use an alarm to wake up)....the lighting is a bit "funky"....the wall switch by the door controls the outlets in the alcoves (little bitty ones) next to the bed, meaning if I turned off the "master" wall switch I got no electricity in the alcove outlets....found that out when my phone didn't charge....also, where I was (3rd floor), I could hear all the hall noises while inside the room....not too many of them, given that the tower studios are all the way at the end of the hallway....but a couple of nights I was there I had pretty noise neighbors coming and going at night....not a big deal to me (I can sleep through anything), but I noticed it.
I liked the room but it would be very tight for two people....I didn't bother folding up the bed each day, just left it down, so there was very little floor space, especially after I shoved the ottomans (which also provide storage) out from under the bed (the bed wouldn't lie flat over them)...
All in all, it's pretty much the only way I'd stay at RR....points cost is too rich for my blood (or put another way, I liked it but I also like the other
DVC resorts just as much and I can stay elsewhere for far fewer points other than in a tower studio)....I don't go solo all that often so it'll be rare, if ever, that I stay there again. But I have absolutely nothing "bad" to say about the resort.
Enjoy your time there....
