We will be at Disney for Food and Wine, and one family member flies back home after the weekend.

Was able to get a nonstop into Reagan on a Tuesday in November (early afternoon) for 4226 points or the equivalent of $66.97 with the $5.60 fee included! For cash the fare was $79 plus the $5.60.

It is the first time I noted that there is a box popup in your email that tells you the base fare. And that points doesn't always match cash exactly.

Usually we use BWI although DCA is closer to home. But BWI was double in points for the desired flight!

So I feel like I snatched a deal!

I get those 6000 points each year for paying the $99 fee and also got the 50K bonus 2 years ago. Still spending that bonus little by little.....

Is it $79/roundtrip? If so, I need to look into that....DCA is like 5 minutes from our home ut my parents are closer to Regan so that would also work for us...

Also, I'm always looking for a good travel/mileage CC. We had the Amex Delta skylines one but I'm not too fond of Amex. Do you recommend the one you have?

Wow, that seems like a great deal. We fly out of MCO as we live in FL, and it seems like anywhere we want to go is more like 18K southwest miles a person :(

No, it's one way, but barely six weeks out. They travel down with me and then fly home. I like to stay longer.

If you get the Southwest Airlines one which is Chase, they have a 50000 bonus point offer after you spend $2000 in 3 months. After that it's an annual fee card for $99 but they give you 6000 points per year so it is a wash in my opinion.

The cheaper points flights are usually for midweek travel from our area. I've never looked or booked right when the window opens so I don't know what deals they have unless I happen to stumble on something.
