Greetings everyone!

DH and I just purchased a small, low-profile 5th wheel for our family. We've been tenting it since we were married and he introduced me to camping, but 10 years later with 2 kids and back surgery, it was time for an upgrade.

We'll be bringing it home tonight, and my question is, what is the 1 (or 2 or 3) thing you cannot live without for your camper?

Thanks!

Congrats! We have an outback lightweight 5er we got in June. I love the swiffer and matress topper.

Congrats!:yay:
1) Dust buster
2) mattress topper
3) my refillable mugs:goodvibes
4) cheap white shoe rack @ WM for all those shoes
5) crock pot

just to name a few;)

:)
Congratulations on your upgrade. We are newbies to camping with our 5th wheel. June of this year and 3500 miles later.
We are still sorting out our must have 1, 2 and 3.

Coming home from DIS a few weeks back, we entered an empty house. I think our 1,2,3 is really somewhere around 140 through 150 must haves. It takes us a day to load up and a week to unload. This is a major Mystery of Life for me.

OOOOOOOOPS !!!!! Shirley, where is Toby our dog ???? Next year will be more manageable----Just join the crowd for now.

:goodvibes Congrats on your new trailer. Some of my 3's are,

Good mattress pad
Good outside rug size about 9 by 12
bug repealant
also ant and roach spray, this is mostly for ants that will get into any crack in you trailer.

Nice chairs to put on your new rug under your awning.
tie downs for you awning and also clip ons.
I have a hanging shoe rack in my wardrobe. You can use this for anything, socks underware and of course shoes.

If I think of anything else I will post it.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Best thing is to camp in your driveway, spend the night and cook what you think you will cook when camping and figure out what you need and get the essentials and keep those in the trailer (get new for the home and put the old stuff out in the trailer to use) and don't mess with trying to remember to bring them from home because you will forget something. Things like towels, pillows, bedding material/blankets, measuring cups/spoons, cooking utensils, good kitchen/carving knives, dishes, cups/glasses/coffee mugs, andpots/pans except for maybe the crockpot are just a few things that come to mind. We even have a cheese slicer for the trailer since we always hated to remember to bring it and still had to find a place to store it in the trailer so why not just have it there already and leave it there.

Also have an ongoing list in the trailer of what you need and forgot and get it for the next trip.

extra bulbs for inside and outside.....
travelling home last weekend we were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic and our one taillight went out and we had no bulbs....
I purchased a couple spares for everywhere on the trailer... I won't run out now!!

crock pot
LOVE MINE in the trailer.... wouldn't be without it!!

1. Extra extension cords.

2. Extra length of fresh water hose.

3. Mattress topper.

4. Pull out shelves (metal drawers on rollers inside a frame). To put in the deep but skinny pantry cabinet.

5. Collapsable fabric bins. We pack our clothes in these in the house and just pop them in the overbed cabinets.

All right, it had to be said.

THE #1 item that is a must have in our trailer is good ole toilet paper!:lmao:

Sure, laugh now, but you won't be laughing the first time you realize you don't have any!

I would say we really enjoy cooking so think of the utensils, pots and pans that will make those things easier for you.

Congratulations on the new trailer and SEND PHOTOS!

pressure regulator for water hose
mattress topper
box fan
good flashlights
plenty of coozies

Thanks for all the great replies! Without a doubt, the mattress topper is the clear winner!

Congrats on the new 5'er!! I grew up tent camping so I know how nice it is to upgrade! My top priorities are extension cords and a lighter or matches.
