OK - this is our second trip and we are all excited about it. We are taking my MIL with us - her first trip. We started planning our trip a long time ago but have been so busy that we havne't booked our meals yet (no meal plan). I am going to try calling today but wanted some advice first.

We have decided to go to our favourites and one new place this time. Some of our days are open but I don't want to have sitdown meals all of the time - in part the money and also the time.

We are going to be at WDW Sunday 11-Sun 18. This is my plan - can you share your thoughts and tips for getting a good table etc... even advice to NOT go to one of the places because of the place, the time etc.. And these days and times are all dependent on whether the PS are available.

Sunday: Ohana 6:40

Monday: Princess and Pirates Party - should we book a dinner that day?

Tuesday: Whispering Canyon for dinner - time? The kids want to go to the campfire so it would have to be a good time so we have time to eat and get to the fire with time to spare. Any advice?

Wednesday: Crystal Palace 8am. EVENING - my husband and I thought we would go out for Valentines day. Do we book a meal or not - thought California Grill maybe? Would downtown disney be better?

Thursday: Going to MGM for day/evening. Do we do counter service or is there a benefit to a meal package with the fireworks?

Friday: Epcot for the day. May just do counter service as we go around the different countries. We went to Akurshus for brunch last time.

Saturday: Chef Mickey's - what is the best time for brunch - early or later. We went at 11am last time and it was pretty busy but still really fun.

Sunday: our travel day - not worried about sitdown meals.

Thanks for your tips!

Helen

I am interested to see if you got the dates and times you wanted. Valentines day is about 3 wks away, right?

I would worry that you are really late to be trying to book ADR's at this point in time. People have been booking ADR's for nearly 6 months. I would imagine that Valentines Day dinner may be difficult to get. I would call ASAP and see what is available. I hope you are not disappointed. Please let us know how you make out.

Good luck with your reservations. We'll be there that same week, and as Hopefully mentioned, we made our reservations six months ago. Be prepared with a lot of back-up choices.

Remember to wear lime green ribbons while at WDW. That's our signal to each other that we're DIS members! (Of course, you'll probably be able to tell I'm a DIS member by my DIS visor!)

I would book something before the P&P Party if possible, the reports I've seen say there aren't many places open during the party to eat.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone - I know I have left things late - I started a new job in the fall and it has just been crazy - add to that Christmas and a few sick kids and well here I am.

The good news is that I called and I have been able to book Ohana, Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace - I had to switch the Ohana and Whispering Canyon nights but I got them so that is great. We had decided to go to our favourites this time and add another - my daughter picked Whispering Canyon - I am sure it will be fine.

For Valentines Day I was able to book Citricos - not sure if that is good or not. Anyone been there?

Helen

Good for you that you got your ADRs even at this late date. I'm leaving next weekend and changed a couple of mine last week and had no problem. However, I was looking online to changing resorts or adding a date and everything is booked up for the week of Feb. 3-9. So I was a little scared when I had to rebook my Spoodles reservations to add a couple of friends and had no problem and got to keep my same time.

Citricos is a perfect place to have a romantic dinner -- perhaps one of the few such restaurants at WDW.
