I just boked #6515 on the Wonder for 11/14/16 and it is a sideways cabin, stayed in same room on Magic. LOVE Them!!! what is the cabin number and you can tell by looking at the deck plans if it's side ways or not.
when booking you can select a stateroom, did you pick one? if not you can call and pick a cabin number. sometimes it's easy to miss how to pick it online.
Look on the deck plans here... http://www.cruisecritic.com/disney-magic-deck-plans/dp/ Most rooms are oriented horizontally on the deck plans. If yours is oriented vertically you have one of the sideways cabins. Those cabins feel a bit roomier because of their layout. Instead of walking in at one end of the room you walk in in the middle with the room running to the left and right of you.
We stayed in room 5505, which is an inside sideways room, when we sailed on the Wonder out of Galveston for Thanksgiving 2013. I booked the same room for our Dec 2015 trip.
The sideways rooms are configured horizontally - you walk into the room and face the sofa bed; the full-sized bed is to one side and the bathroom is to the other.
The inside room was fine for myself and my son. It would have been very crowded with an extra person in there, though. I just can't justify the extra cost for a larger room or one with a view when it's just the two of us. And there isn't much to see when you're sailing across the Gulf of Mexico anyway.
Our TA helped us pick the stateroom, and the sideways room was her suggestion.

we LOVE this location, close to an elevator and not many walls shared w/other cabins, and you get a steamer trunk! so extra room.
search for "sideways inside cabin Disney" and you can see pictures. they really do feel much bigger!!
