:cool1: We're now booked at WL for Oct. 18-26!!!!:woohoo: Went with standard view and "requested" a room that opens up to the main lobby. The past 2 trips we've had woodsview bunkbeds, but thought we'd save a few $$ and still get to stay at WL.:dance3:

Wish we were in your shoes. Looks like we're going to have to wait until Aug to book our trip next year. When we went July of last year we had reserved a std room to save a little money but we got a e mail about a week before we went and they gave us a free upgrade to a woods view which was beautiful. Too bad we didnt spend enough time in the room to enjoy it. I see youre from Knoxville. The in laws have a condo in Pigeon Forge and we went over to the new, I guess , shopping area which I believe is Turkey Creek. Just love that place! Cant wait to go back with some more money!

I am staying there in May and we have 'woods view'. I was told to request the Magic Kingdom side overlooking the Otter Pond. The reservations were made for us since it was a gift for our Honeymoon..when do you suggest I call and request?

I would go ahead and call now and let the add it to the reservation. We waited and made our request when we arrived for check in at the Contemporary back in 05 for a Magic Kingdom view in the tower. Fortunately they were able to do it. We just got lucky I guess.

I would phone and request it now but you should be OK as all the old woodsview rooms on the other side towards the villas are now classified as courtyard view. They are not near as nice a view as the main pool

Are there 'newer' and older rooms? I stayed at Shades of Green in 06 and luckily we had the newer side but the older side was skanky. I don't want to stay on an older side if there is one! Can anyone verify if there is a new side of rooms and an older side?

No there are no newer/older rooms. Years ago before The Villas @ Wilderness Lodge was built all the rooms on the South side of the Lodge that faced South, (other than the few Standard View rooms above the Check-In desk) where Woods View. Since they built the Villas the rooms at the end of the south wing rooms facing South are now also Courtyard View rooms as they overlook the Villas pool.

Hey!! We'll be there at the same time! :cool1: We're going the 10/19-10/25.

We booked a standard room but didn't put in any specific room request yet. I am thinking of leaving it to the reservation gods. Back and forth on that one.

Congrats and maybe we'll see you there!

Anne

We're there same time too! Woot!! :)

We have courtyard and I definitely want to tell them I do not want one of those ones overlooking the villas. What kinda courtyard is that?? ;)

You will need to request "Inner Courtyard View" if you would like the courtyard view with Silver Creek Springs Pool, Silver Creek, the waterfall, the geyser and Bay Lake. I have the information posted about all the room views over on the FAQ Thread Page 1 post # 2.

We're staying at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time 5/29 to 6/7/08. I am about to bust! We were booked for a woods view/bunk bed but decided to save the extra $253.00 and just do woods view/2 queen beds.

Anybody have any suggestions on any certain rooms to request?

We decided to switch to a studio in the VIllas (same price) and I'm hoping for a pleasant woods view...which was kinda my first choice originally in the Lodge, but not available!

Magic Kingdom Side, High Floor, Overlooking the Otter Pond!

May be able to see MK firewords from balcony is these requests are granted!

PS - Here is a room map of the WL and room categories. The above mentioned would be rooms 004-034

Quieter than the inner courtyard for one thing. We loved our location and view overlooking the villas pool. Guess we're in the minority though! S'okay, we won't have any problem scoring those rooms in the future if nobody else is requesting them! :thumbsup2

Well, nothing WRONG with that view, it's just not a "courtyard" IMO, in the sense that a courtyard is an enclosed area. I'm all in favor of quieter, personally...like I said, woods was my first choice. :)
