Haven,t posted in ages but read the boards every day, fp plus is scaring me a bit mostly because no one will ever mistake me for Steve jobs or bill gates when it comes to computers.

Had to have my daughter do all this linking stuff for me, Husband and I are going with her family.

I feel that general Eisenhower planned d-day easier then planning a trip to dw!!!!trying to read and educate myself on all the changes, will be there on July 13th. Feeling excited but apprehensive!!!!

Staying on site?

If you don't ride very many rides it won't affect you much.

If you do like to ride a lot of rides I think you better study up. :)

I can tell you this, ADRs and ARRs together make for intense planning.

I would specifically watch to see if FP is opened up online in advance for all guests, if that happens you might need to grab FP in advance. But if off site guests continue to be restricted to kiosks on day of arrival, I wouldn't think you would need to choose rides too far in advance.

I have an old non-smartphone so I felt a little hindered while I was in the park.

But, considering all that - you can look at this trip as a brand new experience.

Good luck!

Yes, staying on site at POP , already made my dining and bbb reservations, this will be my 10th trip, it used to be so easy. Have not been in July since 2005, 08 and 11 were in October , but October was not an option due to school and husbands vacations( they have to pick a year ahead of time )' so July it is!!!!

I know we will have a great time regardless, looking forward to the 2 years old first and his dad's first time.

~Yay! That sounds so awesome! You have such an amazing attitude! Transitions can be trying at times and we all have to master the learning curve with anything new. Like at the airport -- when the airlines established online check in for bags and downloading boarding passes on your phone -- even TSA was a transition at first and I'll never forget those crazy lines. :lmao:

~Anyway, we just love magic bands and fp+, it turned out far better than I initially thought it would be. I was bracing myself for the worst after reading so much negativity, but that was not the case for us, at all.

~And, I've read plenty of positive reviews from other posters, so it's just not me. So, I'm hoping you have a fabulous time at WDW!

~Seriously, I would be at Disney World right now, if I could! Have fun! :cool1:

Booking fastpass+ in the parks is really easy the day of. If a line at a Fastpass area seems to long, ask the line greeter where a better location will be. IT is never at the popular rides. For example I have noticed long lines occurring at DAK at KSR and Everest ( due to people wanting to get fastpasses for that ride for that very moment). Outfitters either gets swamped or completely blown off by incoming guests. Primeval Whirl and Creature Comforts never tend to have lines. Kali has been hit or miss due to the cold weather Florida has been experiencing.
I've noticed that the system seems confusing until you try it.

We are going in July, too. I am a little stressed about making our FP+ times. In the past we have gotten our tickets at SoG. This time, I want to get them now. My DH is overseas and I haven't talked to him about getting the tickets early. I kind of have it in my head that if we don't get them early to make the FP+ times, we will be stuck in super long lines. I would hate to spend ALL day in lines and end up riding only 2 rides. kwim?

maybe I exaggerated at the end.....
