It is further out...but the size/amenities are worth the drive since we are going in Aug. and plan to have more down time for this trip. We plan on going to the parks in the morning until lunch time...then head back out in the evening. Plus we are having NON park days too.

Just wanted to share.....in case there are others who are looking for larger rental homes. We are paying 1130 total for 8 nights.

That looks really nice! I just booked my first offsite trip at a 4 bedroom townhouse in Davenport too.

That's our plan for August. Parks in the morning and actually relax in the afternoon/evening.

That is a beautiful home at a great price! We are also staying 8 nights and looking for a rental home but have stayed in Davenport before at Regal Palms and the drive just seemed really long, and we will be doing 5 or 6 park days including US/IOA and Sea World which would be even further so am trying to avoid staying there, but we loved Regal Palms resort pool!

Just FYI- from where we stayed at Regal Palms it was closer to 30 mins to WDW than 15

The home looks great but you might want to adjust your driving time to Disney, SeaWorld and Universal from what it says. There's no way that you'll be at any Disney park in 15 min. from there. You might be entering World Dr. from I - 4 in 15 min but you can add another 20 minutes on for the actual parks. Seaworld will take you at least 30 min and Universal 35ish if I - 4 is moving well.
You might reconsider going back to the house during the day, it will take you longer than you think. It took us over 35 min. to leave Magic K and return to Windsor Hills which is a lot closer. Lots of times it isn't the distance it's the procedure of getting out of the park and to your car especially at MK. The other Disney parks are easier to leave.
So just allow for a longer commute and it should be fine.

We loved our vacation home! So much that if we are planning more than a few days we will never do a hotel again(not for a long time). We stayed at WH so we were pretty much a s close as a lot of the hotels, but I wouldn't have minded a little drive. The amenities of a nice house cannot be beat!! It was great unwinding outside on the patio, sitting by the pool while the kids were sleeping after a long day...something you could never do staying in a hotel. Plus, not being at the mercy of WDW transportation is an added bonus!!!:thumbsup2

I figured it was further out than it said..especially with traffic. We are only going to Disney and probably not ever day. We are staying two nights on property at the start of our trip so we are doing the parks those three days in a row. We are not commando park people in the summers anyway...TOO HOT. So....we only plan staying until lunch time....or there after...then going back for dinner .....hopefully it won't be 45 min. to the parks from Davenport. We stayed at WH spring break of 2012 and I don't remember it taking 35 min. during that time to go to and from. When did you stay there???

We stayed there in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010. We timed it when we left MK for an afternoon break and it was 35 min from the time we stood in line waiting for the monorail then getting the tram to the car and driving back to WH. It's not the distance it's the waiting for stuff.
The area you're staying in is not busy. There's a Publix at the Reunion intersection and a Chinese take out beside it called China Taste which we really like, a Subway, CVS, Pizza Hut and another Chinese, Papa Johns also in that Reunion intersection area.

Not all parts of Davenport are as far away from US/IOA and Sea World as Regal Palms. We stayed in Regal Palms quite a few years back and now we stay at this house in Grand Reserve resort in Davenport http://www.vrbo.com/46990

The nice thing about this area is that it is very close to the I-4 exit 58. Disney exits start at exit 62 and US/IOA is exit 75A.

The villas really looks nice, I like the fact that the pool looks very pvt.

That's a nice place too!!!

Just wanted to add, the place looks great. It's funny we were diehard stay on's until we became a family of five, and now six. I would rather have a drive than be crammed into a hotel room. I remember a trip to Beach Club. We loved the resort, although we had quite a walk back to our room. It also took us 30 minutes to reach MK, due to waiting on a bus. Proof that onsite does not guarantee you a quick trip to the park. (My dh was furious, for the amount we paid, to have to wait that long!!)

We just stayed in davenport right off of Old Lake Wilson rd and it was only about 4 minutes longer to the parks than staying at Windsor Hills. We stayed at Lake Wilson Preserve development.
