Just booked the WL with a 40% Discount code

I am so excited I got an email yesterday about 40% during certain weeks throughout 2009. We wanted to plan a trip over Thanksgiving so we could see the holiday decorations throughout Disney. To my surprise our dates were included in the promotion. I assumed it was a room only discount so was prepared to save a few hundred bucks. When I called the CM told me that it was 40% off the package, room, dining, and tickets. I was absolutely shocked. Usually if I get a pin code it is for some time when we cannot go. We are saving a ton of $$. It just made my day.

Are you sure? The 40% email is only for room discounts, as far as I know. You can add a package (tix and dining) to it, but your discount is still only on the room portion. If you break down the pricing you will see. I have the exact same 40% off email (sent to me last Oct) and I have a trip booked at WL for the same time as you.

Please let me know if you find out otherwise, once you've looked at your package total and done the math. If it really is 40% off everything, I'd love to know so I can fix my ressies too.

When they gave me the total I didn't think they included park tickets. He said that yes he did. I told him I thought the code that I gave him was a room only discount and he said no it is for the entire package. My total was $2925.00 before the discount and $1755.00 after the discount. The pin that I gave him was from an email I got yesterday that listed 9 different time periods throughout the year. Unless he gave me a different discount, but I doubt it, they run a tight ship with their discount codes. I was as shocked as you are.

Interesting! I believe we have the same email...weeks throughout 2009.

Can I ask what room category you booked at WL? I have standard rooms booked, with tix and dining, for 7 nights, with the regular dining plan and 8 day tix. One room has 2 adults and one child, and the other room has two adults. This is for the time period right after Thanksgiving according to the email.

My total was $2768, my parents room was $2428 (this also includes insurance). This is after the 40% discount on room only (as I was told on the phone by the CM when booking).

Do you have dining added as well? Maybe that's where my difference is.

I might just be calling back CRO to see if they made a mistake with my ressie! Unless you've gotten some extra pixie dust?

I tried to apply a discount room only code to a current reservation for our trip this past October and it took 5 phone calls and 5 different cast members before I was able to get that discount.

I booked a 4 night Woods view bunk bed room with 4 day hopper and dining plan. No water park or expiration. It is for the period after Thanksgiving.

Wow, that is a really great deal...thanks for the info above, I went to the website to price it out and your numbers are exactly 40% off everything (I guessed that you had two little ones from the bunkbed choice and that you took insurance). I hope I can get them to fix my ressies too....it would be great to save that kind of money!

From my experience with pin codes, if one cast member denies you just keep calling back. That is what I did for our October trip.

I just got off the phone w/Disney and the agent said it is a ROOM ONLY discount of 40%. As a matter of fact, it states that right on the promotion, both email and mailer.

And also, the dates for the pin code after Thanksgiving are not for 7 nights, as many of you have reserved. The pin code dates are for Nov. 29-Dec. 5. Airfare during Thanksgiving weekend is a little higher, so that is a consideration as well for us.

I got both the email for 40% off and the postcard for 40% off

so I have called and priced WL courtyard view, 5 day base tix and dxdp for 2 adults and 2 kids (6 & 2) and both pins got me the same price which equaled 40% off room only

Can you apply the pin code online and get a price quote that way? I got a pin code too.. but I like to play around with all the different bells and whistles, and generally putzing around, and I don't want to take up the CM's time just to check prices for me.

I don't know if I'm going to book or if I even can swing another trip, but I just wanted to see what the cost would be.

Does anyone know if this can be done online?

I just called, and even though mine doesn't say room only, the discount came out to room only. So I decided the 7 for 4 is a much better deal for us.
