ETA: It is a 30% discount on Room Only. Don't know if you can make it a package. If you can't get the website to work, call Walt Disney Travel Co and ask about the GETAWAY rate. We also just switched to the GC with a TPV.

The rate is $1799 for 7 nights in an upper level resort view room for 2A, 3C at the Disneyland Hotel (same room last week was well over $2500). Same dates were $1854 for the GC in a standard view room.

We booked the DL room and can't wait! Now we'll be closer to DTD, the other DL resorts for character meals, and the monorail for my DS (who is a monorail fanatic).

I can't find this rate anywhere on the Disney site. I have the DL hotel booked for that time frame and paid way more! I guess my best bet is to keep surfing and maybe call when they open. Did it come up as a pop up window?

No. I was booking a room (checking prices). Put in June 20-27, etc. When the page came up to book offers I noticed how much cheaper it was. Next to rate it says getaway. Try booking a new ressie and see what happens. Good luck!

Thanks! Earlier this morning I tried checking for my dates (June 22-26) and the old rate is still showing up. I just extended it to 5 nights instead of 4 and still no deal. But I was booking as a package. I tried under my dates as a room only and I can't get any rate at all. The only way I can get the getaway rate is to put your dates in which basically equates to three more nights for $200 more dollars than I paid for a standard room.

ETA: This is hysterical! Here is my rate
Arriving on 6/20/2010 for 7 nights; 2 Adults and 1 Child (age 7)
Room Type: Upper Level Resort View
Package: None
Tickets: None
Offer: Getaway Rate

7 Night Room Total* (USD):$0.00
Tax (USD):$0.00
Grand Total** (USD):$0.00
Deposit (due today) (USD):$0.00

Free! I'll take it!

I can get the $1799 rate even if I start on the 22nd and stay until the 29th. The 7 day stay seems to be the key. The problem is if I change the nights down at all, I get prompted to "please select a resort" and get no quote at all. So I have no idea if the rate is not good for fewer than seven days or if their site is just busted. 47 minutes until I can call...Still checking the site.:surfweb:

I found similar rates for early August but am guessing it is an error. When I try to get any offer at all for our actual dates in late July I get a wierd message that I need to "choose a resort" - which I had already done. I am still trying.

THANK YOU!!!!! I got the GetAway rate online too!! I just rebooked our room at the DL Hotel for 3 nights June 1 - 4 and was able to get the rate - this saved us about $70 a night from my AAA rate that I had previously booked:thumbsup2

I was really tempted to upgrade to the Grand but we have never stayed at the Disneyland Hotel before and really want to try it. Thanks again for posting this!!!

I was getting that rate for 4 days. It works for all days in July except the last week when i want to go, and also all of August.

Good to know that it works for four nights. I am getting that same "select a resort error." The strage thing is that it will work if those days are part of a seven day stay but anything fewer than seven days in that same date range still doesn't work for me. :confused3

ETA: Now seven day stays won't even work for my dates.

FWIW I am also getting it for 2 night stays. I can get it for the two of the four nights we want and may just book it and change hotels.

Great tip. But it won't work for any two night stays in late June. No late June combos are working for me at this point. Plus I already booked a package so I would be looking at a $100 cancellation fee to move from a package to a room only rate. Maybe that means I have a better shot at a refurbished room because I paid more. ;)

OK, latest info. I want 4 nights July 27-31 (maybe only 3 July 28-31) and anytime I put in a date that included July 23-28 I would get the error "Resort not found". But I could get the hotel for July 29-31 for two of our nights. So I chose that.

Then I entered all contact info, credit card, etc., and three times got an error message. On the fourth time it went through.

So I have two nights at the GCH with theme park view for $714. Normally that room type is something over $1200. I checked a couple weeks ago.

:cool1:

This will save us over a $1000 for our 6 night stay at the GCH in August...problem is the phone lines are still closed for another 40 mins....if I have an existing reservation can I change it online or do I need to actual speak to someone. I hope they don't run out of rooms! This rate is great for the summer.

Which site are you using? We want to go in that same week in June. Thanks!

Great savings for the GCH during the summer.

As an update I was able to get through on their 1-800 number to change my reservation. The CM said that they weren't expecting these rates for the summer and have had a lot of phone calls already this morning. We saved $1100 with the switch from the AP rate. Thanks OP...It paid off for me to take the day off from work and check the disboards!

kelmac284- you can use the disneyland.com webpage to book your stay on line or call them directly to book your room. The number is on the site.

I was finally able to get it to come up. A few questions...

If I book 8 days but only need 6 can I cancel?

Which of the 3 hotels do you think has the best pool for a 4 and 7-year-old?

Thanks!

We've only stayed at the Grand Californian and there are 3 pools there and the kids loved them ( 3 & 4 yr olds). But I have heard that the Disneyland Hotel has great pools as well. Do a search on Disenyland pools and I'm sure some posts will come up.

Although the DLR website would not let me include July 28. I called and they added it. For some reason she could not add July 27. She said only concierge rooms were available that night. So now I have 3 nights. Total price is $1050 plus tax. Theme park view room. :)
