I am so excited. I just booked the Polynesian Resort for early December. This will be our 1st time there. I have a garden view. Which building should I request for me, DH and DS (4)? Any suggestions would be really appreciated. pirate: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

I don't think there is a bad room at the POly but we like the Tahiti buidling. It is a bit of a walk fromt he GCH (4 minutes) but very close to the TTC to hop on the monorail for EPCOT.
We always ask for a 1st floor room becuase on our 1st visit, the kids went out on the patio and feed the ducks. After that, each morning, they came to the patio and knocked on the glass door with their beaks looking for the kids. They loved it!

Enjoy your trip

I think each of the buildings has its own charm and advantages. We have never requested a particular building there just non smoking and first floor. We've always been happy.

But if you are going to request a building, Tikiman praises Tokelau. All rooms have either a lanai or balcony, it is kind of midway between the GCH and the TTC, the rooms are even a little larger than the original buildings and there are even some rooms with a sideways lagoon view for gardenview price.

Have a great stay! :cool1:

i like ratonga and niue because of their proximity to the GHC and Pool. I don't mind taking the monorail around to the TTC to get to Epcot, its a nice ride. Besides, the walk from TTC to GHC isn't really all that bad! :)

I love Tokelau for those reasons! We've only stayed at the Poly once, but if we were ever to go back, we'd definitely request Tokelau again.

Samoa was perfect!!! right by the GCH, both pools, and the boat launch

I booked Samoa garden view. I requested first floor, facing the Volcano pool. The previous poster is correct about Samoa's proximity to all those conveniences. It's also pretty handy to Captain Cook's.

Our favorite is Samoa too. We have had ground floor, volcano pool view, I asked for that again this april, but we got 3rd floor room 3611, our view was of the hawaii conceirge 3rd floor and bamboo tree tops. I still love the bldg. for the closeness at the other posters said. It was nice to sit on the 3rd floor balcony, but there was alot of bird poop.

Does any one know if Somoa is a smoke-free building? I've got conflicting info. One source says it is smoke-free but another says it is smoking optional.
I definetly want a non-smoking building. Thanks everyone for all the great information.

Samoa is smoke free now since its last rehab a few years ago. I agree it has a great location but it is also not as large a building as some others like Tokelau and Tahiti...even Raratonga is larger I think. Anyway because it is smaller the chances of a request being successful are reduced compared to the larger buildings. It is one of only three buildings that we've stayed in our 30 or so vactions at the Polynesian and we too have enjoyed it. :sunny:
