Just Booked our Timeshare!!!!

Been planning this trip since we got back from our last one in 2005 but it is never official till the first thing is actually booked and paid for! We just booked our timeshare and it was actually paid for when we deposited our weeks back in July but we changed "which" weeks we were going and had a problem with them getting deposited with RCI but today we actually booked them!! So it is official!! We are leaving on November 20th 2008 next year. We are going to UO and IoA for the first 2 days and hopefully staying at the Hard Rock (haven't booked that yet) too early LOL but then we check in to the timeshare at the Orange Lake Country Club (anyone ever stayed there?) We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana last time. Then we have to check out on the 29th and we are going to try and either stay in the Carribean Beach Club or Coronado, Maybe even Port Orleans for our last 2 days.

We don't want to try and fly out the weekend after Thanksgiving so we are going to fly home the following monday.

This way we will be able to see the Christmas around the world at Epcot and Candlelight Processional. I am SOOOO excited!!!!!

I know it is going to be packed towards the end but we are still stoked!!

I can't wait till I can book the rest of my trip!!!

Now I just have to wait for the rest of the rooms and the airfare to become available so I can rest easy!!!

congrats!!! we have a timeshare at orange lake! we love it!!! do you know what village your in?

I have no idea. We actually own a timeshare in the Melia in Ixtapa Mexico but we used an exchange through RCI. We stayed in the Sheraton Vistana last time and were not that impressed with our particular unit. They put us right next to I-4. The unit itself was ok but being next to the interstate was not that great. From what I have seen and heard from everyone Orange Lake sounds really nice. We are supposed to get our stuff from RCI within the next few weeks but we are not staying till NEXT Thanksgiving so I have a feeling we won't find out where we are at till we get there. But if it says on our RCI paperwork I will be sure and let you know.

I am just relieved to have that part booked. Now I just have to get our first two days at Universal and our last two days at Disney booked. We only have a week at our timeshare and we are staying 2 days before and 2 days after.

And then there is the whole issue of airfare. We purposely are flying the Thurs before and the Monday after hoping to get some discounts and as soon as it gets to be 08 I am going to start shopping. I hope we can get some good deals because there will be 5 of us flying from CA to Orlando. We always were able to fly for 200 round trip per person the last two times but with gas prices the way they are I don't know anymore. I am hoping for southwest but they don't post their fares till 6 months out which is risky to wait that long but I guess we will just have to wait and hope!

oh right cool, i know that they recently on RCI spilt Orange Lake into two different properties, Orange's Lake West Village and Orange's Lake East Village (or River Island it could be called not sure)

but the West Village is the older section, which is actually all being refurshbished(sp) right now, then the river island is the newer section done in 2006, which has it's own lazy river it's so cool!!

we have a 2bedroom villa in the east village looking over the golf course, just around the corner from river island, we love it there, it's a quite big resort, some people find they don't like it at orange lake, as you have to drive round it, you can't really walk to places, thou they do have shuttle buses running like every 20 minutes i think. we don't mind it thou, we like driving in the states. will you be hiring a car? if your not you might find it hard to get round OL?
