I've been waiting for SW to have the rest of the Jan. flights available. Saw they had them this morning so I booked our flights for our Jan. 12 cruise. I wanted to wait to book our return flight until I talked to dh to see which one he would want to book. 2 hrs after booking I went back to SW's site and saw they had decreased our ticket prices, so I called and got the credit and will use it when I book our return flight. I asked the rep if he knew if they would be having a July 4 sale next week. He didn't know, but said they have been lowering prices lately on Tuesdays, and told me to check then and for the next few weeks for lower prices. Thought I'd share in case anyone else booked or is looking to book soon. Saw they had fares for Feb and first week of March also.

If you notice a price drop within 24 hours of booking, know that you are also free to completely cancel any SWA flight reservation of any ticket class within 24 hours of booking and get a full refund. You don't need to get travel credits to apply to a later flight when you're within 24 hours of the original booking.

Tuesdays are the best days to look for SW flights. And the cheapest days to fly are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. You can't beat the 2 free bags!

And the 24 Hour rule is true of every US based airline I believe?

"If you are booking an airfare in the United States, U.S. Department of Transportation regulations require that, as long as you've booked a non-refundable ticket 7 days ahead of your flight, you're entitled to hold your reservation and the fare and change or cancel your reservation within 24 hours of booking, without paying a cancellation fee"

I just booked Southwest on Thursday for our Feb. cruise out of Port Canaveral, $58 each from Ft. Lauderdale, don't know if it ever goes lower than that for this flight. But love the 2 free bags, especially on a 14 night cruise.

Thanks for posting, I didn't know that. I was happy with the price I had booked the tickets for, so not looking to cancel. Even happier that I was able to get $90 credit that I will use for our return flight. I usually can get tickets for $100-$150 per person, so doesn't cost a lot anyway.
