I never book this early, but we are doing a Disney Cruise 5/19 to 5/26/2012.
I am a CO fan and have been watching the fares go up and up. I think because we want to fly home on Memorial Day, I'm not getting a good rate. I booked at $239.20 each non-stop from Newark to Orlando. I got the flight times I wanted. As soon as I confirmed our flights, I checked again and the same flights are now $276.60. Considering I got the exact flight times that I wanted, I am happy. We will stay at the Hyatt pre-cruise, and will be renting DVC points a VWL for 2 nights post-cruise.

I fly out of DFW to MCO several times a year and am used to paying $148.00-$220.00 r/t on Air Tran. With Southwest buying Air Tran and pulling them out of DFW after Nov 22nd, I'm afraid our days of cheap airfare are over. For my Nov 26th-Dec 4th trip I paid $277.00 for American, but that was only after watching the prices fluctuate for several weeks. They had been running over $400.00 and they finally went on sale for a few days. I grabbed them when they went down to $277.00. That's the most I've ever paid for DFW-MCO air fare. That exact same flight is now $475.40. I've also been watching air fare for my Feb and May trips. Both have been running over $400.00. This past Wed, American again put tickets on sale for two days. The May trip was still over $400.00, but the tickets for Feb went down to $192.40. I grabbed them. It's a good thing I did, because today they went back up $459.40 for the same flight. Air fare for May is still $459.40. I've decided to continue to watch fares. If they go down in the $200.00-$270.00 range I'll grab them, but if they stay in the $300.00-$400.00 range, I'll just skip my May trip this year. I go frequently enough that it's not going to hurt me to skip a trip. I refuse to pay over $270.00 for airfare and that's pushing it for me. Because I nearly always have several trips in the planning stages, I check air fare pretty much daily and grab it when it falls into the prices I'm willing to pay.

For my Feb trip I was thinking about taking my 2 1/2 y/o grand son with me to WDW. The morning the fares dropped to $193.40 I called both my son and daughter-in-law at work and asked if I could take him to WDW for a week. Both said yes. I told them I needed to know for sure that day and if they changed their minds I would kill them, because air fare was on sale, but I didn't know how many days it'd stay at that price and of course it was nonrefundable. I called my son first and he said he didn't have a problem with it, but to call his wife. My daughter-in-law said no problem, he'd love it, and I could take him anytime I wanted. She promised they wouldn't change their minds and told me to just remind her of the dates I needed him and she'd have him ready.

thats awesome!! We fly CO out of EWR (even though we live in manhattan --i like CO!). But I am looking for march... Its about 500 each now!! Usually we pay what you just did... I will hold out for a bit..Otherwise may have to try jet blue. I know nothing about them but i think their flights are 300 for that time period... But your good luck is giving me hope! thanks!

Check JetBlue. I LOVE flying them out of Newark, but I know they have NY flights and they're usually cheaper.

I know you are not supposed to look once you book and pay for your non-refundable tickets but I just looked again and the fare is now $338.20 per person. Yikes, what is going on...?
