Ok - after all the planning and researching - we thought all was good with Dec 3rd thru 9th.

Then we found out that the Pop Warner Kids are scheduled to be at WDW the same week.

I have read many post about this and they all seem to state STAY AWAY from the value resorts.

Well - we are - we booked the Wilderness Lodge .... SO - is it safe to say there will not be alot of 'crazy' cheerleaders running around the WL ??

How are the parks - I would assume that most of the time the kids will be playing football and cheering at Wide World of Sports during the week - correct ??

So if the Parks will be normal.....then we should be ok right ??

I am having a litlle bit of buyers remorse right now .....could someone shed some light on this subject for us ?

Thanks :confused3

Don't worry! We go down every year at this time, this year 12/2 - 8. You will barely notice them at WL. Without getting into a "flaming contest" the biggest complaint is usually with the accompanying cheerleaders and in my case the parents. They have put on some "good shows" in Terminal A out of BDL! So, don't fret the crowd factor at WDW. Go to EC and enjoy the Candlelight Processional. Most of all, enjoy the Christmas atmosphere! Oh, and for the record, Regis and Kelly will have "probably" just left taping the Christmas parade the day you arrive. ;)

I've stayed at Boardwalk during this time and it was no problem. They fund their stays through fundraisers, they are not going to book deluxe. You do see some around the parks but not enough to make a big difference.

I agree with what the previous posters said - I have also been there during Pop Warner week, most recently this past December and had no problem. We stayed at BWI, so the hotel was not impacted by them. We did see some groups at the parks, but they were no problem.

quite honestly how could you go wrong WL over a value
no contest..with or without pop warner

Thanks for the reassurance !!! :cool1:

Now my husband and I can sleep better tonight - I hate having that buyers remorse feeling - especially when it comes to Disney.

Count down is on !!

We went this past DEC that exact week ,and I will tell you now, I am not a cheerleader fan after witnessing several of them acting disrespectfully to others,it seems every time we do go, there is some kind of competition going on BUT DO NOT WORRY, you will be fine, you will notice them esp later in the days and evenings at the parks. There will always be some that ruin the image for others, but all in all most behaved well mannered and besides, it's Christmas time, decorations are up and it's a beautiful time to visit, esp at the WL. You will have a great time. Don't worry, IMO the March competitors seem more rowdy than the Pop group. Have fun, relax, you will have a great time that week! :wizard: :goodvibes

I went through the same fears as you a couple years ago, when I'd booked at WDW during Pop Warner week. I was at BWV and BCV. Although I'd been reading all kinds of "horror" stories, once I got there I didn't even know they were there. That is, until about the 4th day, when I was in MK and saw about 3 preteens wearing rollers in their hair, in the parks. I was trying to figure out why girls that age would be out with rollers, until I remembered "Oh, yeah-Pop Warner-those girls were probably cheerleaders!" That was my ONLY reminder of the fact that Pop Warner was there-no screaming, no bad behavior, none of the stuff I'd been fearing.
